COMBINE/OPEN?:> Y_ BOHEMIAN CLUB OWL COURT ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW At one point in its expansive history, The Court of Owls was once part of an expansive organization that included the likes of the Hellfire Club, though its power waned not long after America gained its independence from the Britain. The organization reestablished itself in the United States, with fronts that include the Bohemian Club in San Francisco, the Belizean Club in New York, amongst others. One of their biggest assets happens to be the Mazda company, based out in Japan. It's members includes politicians, businessmen, and even several members of the Hellfire Club, up to and including the Hellfire Inner Circle. GENERAL HISTORY The groundwork for the organization hat would later become known as The Court of Owls stretches back as far as the Crusades, formed out of a splinter group of the Order of the Knights Templar, though rumors within the group pointing to the actual origin story being far, far older. The current narrative states that during the search for the Holy Grail during the Crusades, a handful of Templars discovered an underground cavern somewhere in what's currently known as Iran. Inside, instead of discovering the item that that initially sought, they discovered a stylized statue in the shape of an Owl. Details following this discover are murky, but they eventually lead to the foundation Covenant Of Noah-Tat, named after the likeness of the owl statue that was initially discovered. Publicly, the group became more of a boys club for the rich and powerful of Europe. Secretly of course, the organization had loftier goals. Using their collective sums of monest--most of it gathered from similarly styled temples like the one dedicated to the mysterious owl idol, Noah-Tat,throughout the Middle East and Europe--the Coven of Noah as it became known started to use their power in attempts to control nations. Unfortunately, the sheer scope of the organization proved to be their undoing. As their membership expanded and their reach grew, interests amongst individuals within the Coven and it's inner circle began to bicker and fight amongst themselves. Eventually, a coup was made, and in the resulting fallout, the Coven was in shambles, and from its ashes rose the Hellfire Club out of Britain. All news wasn't bad, however. Certain members abroad in the Americas sent word to the remnants of the Coven about more temples similar to Noah-Tat's in North and South America. Picking up the pieces, the Court relocated its power base across the Atlantic, taking advantage of the bustling trade the European colonies provided and quickly began to amass a large sum of money, mostly off of the slave trades. As their fortunes were rebuilt and membership grew, the former Coven of Noah re-branded itself as The Court of Owls. And like their namesake, the Court Of Owls mostly met at night to various activities, political and often debaucherous, all to further their own agenda. Part of this agenda was to reclaim the Hellfire Club and punish the members that splintered off and never remained loyal to the Court. What followed were a number of low and high profile assassinations on both ends, along with a political game that ultimately lead to the Revolutionary War. While neither side fully backed the Americas or the Crown, both the Court of Owls and the Hellfire Club played both sides of the war to their benefit and detriment of the opposing side. After instigating the French Revolution, the Court of Owls seemed to be on the rise once more as their tendrils spread across the Americas and Europe, nearly reaching the point of eclipsing the Hellfire Club in scope and power. Unfortunately, either due to some wrong moves or some crafty espionage from outside organizations, The Court of Owls was dealt a tremendous blow during the February Revolution in France. During this societal upheaval, various members of the Court were ousted from power, sent into exile, or assassinated outright. With its European branch in shambled, the North American Court, localized along the east coast, continued to thrive. Though the majority of its power was lost with the collapse of the European sector, The Owls of the United States continued to act, using its clout and assassins to further their agenda. It is rumored that the Court is responsible for the start of World War I and for curating the global environment that allowed for World War II. In the period between World War I and World War II, the Court Of Owls in the United States met with a select group of wealthy individuals in Russia, China, and France and pooled their resources together. The collective organization was then known as The Philosophers Of The Court, lead by a group of twelve individuals that were known as the Wisemen's Committee. The reinvigorated Court Of Owls amassed a sizable fortune for itself during the two great wars, totaling somewhere in the hundreds of billions, if not trillions. What was done with this fortune is not entirely known. In order to reclaim power for itself, the United States branch of the Court of Owls concocted an elaborate scheme to assassinate their Russian, Chinese, and French conspirators. Taking advantage of one of its members position as a member of the Great Wheel, the Owls used large amounts of money to coerce the innards of the group into conflict, and through that conflict, to the death of their unwanted associates. This blood money would go on to help fund the creation of various groups like S.H.I.E.L.D., Leviathan and HYDRA. The financial drain wasn't seen as being entirely positive for everyone within the organization, but the fact that it all lead toward the ultimate goals of the group, and helped provide enough smoke to cover their movements proved to be a boon. Since then, The Court Of Owls ceased using broad stroke movements and scaled back their activities for more covert and delicate acts to slip in to various political and financial sectors around the world. Their current major cover is on the west coast in San Francisco as the Bohemian Club, though their presence can be seen everywhere by those who pay attention. From the banks that manage your money to the universities you educate your children in, even to the cars that you drive, the Court Of Owls are everywhere if you know where to look. THE TALONS OF THE COURT The Assassins of the Court Of Owls. These men and women have been gathered from throughout the ages and trained specifically to be the enforcers and assassins of the organization. While the original Talon's were entirely mortal, an alchemic process was discovered in the 1850s that allowed the Talons to be blessed with nigh-immortality. The Talon's are from all countries and all economic backgrounds; oftentimes members of the organization would induct their very own children to become assassins. A special thing to note that is the vast majority of the Talon's had superhuman abilities long before becoming assassins. In fact, they were mostly mutants. The Court actively sought out mutant recruits long before the technology for mutant detection was even possible. How they managed this and why they sought out mutants is unknown, though they continue to search for them to this very day. Most of the recent mutant recruits happened to be members of the Neo who were depowered during M-Day. They where then enhanced like all Talons and somehow had their mutant powers reactivate as a result. POWERS AND ABILITIES POWERS AND PHYSICAL ABILITIES: The powers of the Talons are as varied as their ranks. As most of them were mutants, most possess superhuman abilities independent of what was given to them by the Court through alchemy. The alchemic enhancement blessed the Talons with a number of abilities:
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: As they all come from different walks of life, the skills of the Talon's differ. They have been trained extensively in combat by the Court, and many members have decades, if not centuries of combat experience, making them all deadly foes. WEAPONS AND EQUIPMENT: The Talon's have a common featureset of swords, daggers, and knives. Though some are known to use whatever's handy, even firearms. WEAKNESSES: Harsh Temperatures: The Talons are incapable of functioning in extreme temperatures. The cold causes their bodies to seize up. Temperatures below 35 degrees will cause them to cease functioning entirely. MEMBER INFO NAME: Ray CONTACT INFO: nonotthesoup@gmail.com OTHER CHARACTERS: link MESSAGE TRUNCATED.
