This is just meant as a very quick little character study that can hopefully help anyone who is interested in playing Kyle aka Wildchild. Yes, I know Remedy is a bit of a fangirl - but don't let that stop you from enjoying what a complex and interesting character Wildchild can be. Hope you enjoy this! ^_^

How do I explain my friend and sometime team mate Wildchild?
How do I explain the differences between Wildchild the feral warrior and Kyle the man?
I’ve known Kyle for many years on and off as we drifted by each other, each growing in experience and power, self-knowledge and being lost in the many adventures being in and out of Alpha Flight and Weapon X. in truth, even when he was first known to me a subdued hair triggered slavering beast-man, I seemed to see the man in him struggling behind his pale blue eyes like sunlight glacier ice.
I saw a lot of pain and bewilderment once the anger and hate were spent, once the bloodlust was sated or repressed – and it touched me – a fellow sufferer of neglect and abuse. We were both relegated to corners, silent and watching as others had romances and dramas. We were helpless hapless victims of genetic manipulations, worth only what the powers that be could make us: mindless warrior or healer, assassin or hero. He was Wildchild, Weapon Omega, Wildheart… I was the Angel of Mercy, Remedy and Velvet Darkness – each new façade fragile over the persons we fight to be despite it all.
Kyle claims he hasn’t much of a mind to control – but he can pilot a helicopter, drive stick shift and diesel engines, come up with clever plans or point out things that even supposedly more brilliant minds don’t see. He has killed compulsively, been a villain and been a hero and saved lives. He has loved and been somewhat loved in return, and over and over again he has been rejected and rendered voiceless, suffering in silence.
Mostly he has been relegated to the sidelines; made fun of, loathed and manipulated, relegated to toady and hanger-on- but he is ever so much more than that, as even Logan has discovered to his detriment. Mystique once called him a ‘farm league Wolverine’ whose head is turned by a pretty face, while his own face has been twisted by his powers from ugly to handsome to ugly again – neither of which shows how beautiful and terrible he can be, and how gentle.
There are parts of him that I fear and respect, rightfully so- Wildchild has power and a reckless disregard for safety, self and even the sacredness of life. But Kyle the man reveres life and takes great joy in embracing risk, throwing himself whole-heartedly into high risk sports or throwing his body in front of a damsel in distress. He weeps over the dead body of a child who had been possessed by demons, and he has torn the life from those who were evil.
I am proud to call Kyle my friend, and if I love him rather helplessly at times, in secret, can you really blame me?
