Liam MacFeorais had hoped to bring Emily Ferrell with him to the Hellfire Gala, but she was still recovering from their run in with Weapon X. As he looked at the mansion, he wished she was there with him.
"What the hell is that?" he asked himself as he saw the building starting to glow a fiery red as people started to run across the street from the mansion. "I wish I had my armor," he muttered as he saw some sort of cracks forming on the outside of the building, but the structure did not seem the worse for wear. "Time fissures? Mystic cracks in reality? What in the name of the Goddess is this?"
Liam hit his commlink and prayed someone in the vicinity was keyed in to the X-Men's frequency. "Calling all X-Men, Avengers and Fantastic Four members. This is the X-Man Claymore, and I need an assist at the Hellfire Mansion. we have...demons. And I mean a lot of them!"

"Oh, you! Sonny boy!"
Alastair Blackwell was thrilled someone with a teeny tiny bit of MacFeorais blood was outside that damned building. Having all of them inside would be a huge problem that he wanted to avoid.
"Yes, you. Kari's boy, right? Alastair Blackwell. Mystic Council police. Got your call. Now, what's the prob...lem?"
Alastair blanched as he saw demons exiting the huge red cracks in the walls of the Hellfire Mansion.
"Mom mentioned you," Liam replied. "And do you have any idea what is going on?" "Not a clue! But that has never stopped me!" Alastair replied as he pulled out a small device with a blue gem at the top. "Then again, I might need a sword or a gun. Those things look beastly!"

Rebekah Lonstein was supposed to have gone to San Francisco with the student body of Xavier's school, but, as always, family life got in the way. Now that her bubbe, her wonderful grandmother Sylvia, was out of the hospital, Beka could finally get on with her life.
"One more night in Manhattan, and then I am...out...of...here?" she said as stood on the corner across from the Hellfire mansion. She couldn't actually go to the event, but Emma Frost had said to meet the team there so she could portal to the West Coast with them.
She hadn't planned on seeing a bunch of demons running around the city.
"Oh, this is so not good!" she screamed as she ran up behind two guys who were just standing there. One looked like the last guy who played Doctor Who, and the other one reminded her of Fergie's husband. Then she saw the X-Men communicator in the Fergie guy's hand and realized she was indeed in the right place at the very worst time. "OK, X-Men. I'm a student transferring to the school. I was supposed to meet Professor Frost here. I'm Beka Lonstein."
"Liam MacFeorais and Alastair Blackwell," the Fergie guy replied. "What is your power?"
"I sort of levitate, but I suck at it. I can help get people to safety, but beyond that, I won't be much help."
"Got it," Liam replied as he saw a great red horned demon running at them. "Get behind me!" he yelled as he flaming runes flow from his hands and stopped the demon in its tracks. "It is going to be one long night unless we can get those portals closed!"

"Liam, seriously, you bring the party outside or what?" a voice called out as an arrow zipped out of the darkness and into the head of a demon. "And Beka. Emma asked me to meet you. Dani Moonstar."
"Dani! Glad to see your smiling face! " Liam replied as he shot more runes at a demon. "I have a funny feeling we'll need to get inside to shut this down. I'm betting Priest pulled a fast one."
"Of course. Makes sense he would after getting almost every mystic to go to this party. Rahne was texting me details before. Looks like the place was packed," she replied as she shot off another arrow at a demon. "Any word from the team?"
"None, and that scares me," Liam replied as more of the police officers stationed around the outside of the mansion started to get involved in the fight.

"I'm on scene and will make contact with Coulson ASAP," Melinda May said over her SHIELD communicator as she and a group of agents disembarked from an armored vehicle and made their way toward the Hellfire Mansion. She had picked up the distress call from one of the X-Men and got a team together to help fight the demon invasion. "Claymore!" she shouted as she crescent kicked one demons while shooting a second in the head. "Agent May from SHIELD. We picked up your signal before we headed back to the Hellicarrier. Your people make it outside yet?"
Claymore turned to see Agent May shooting another demon between the eyes as the rest of her team waded into the sea of insanity outside the mansion. "No, afraid not, ma'am," Claymore added as he nodded to May. "I'll alert you as soon as I get word from inside. Shaw must have blocked communication. I can't get a signal in or out, and telepathy seems to be scrambled as well."
"Great," May replied as she looked up for a moment and saw a dragon overhead. "A dragon? Seriously?"

Blake got out of the armored vehicle with a bullet proof vest strapped to his chest. "Not that this is going to do me any good," he muttered ducking behind the van. He popped up and fired a few rounds striking a few demons down. He muttered a few expletives when a burst of fire reigned down from the sky. This wasn't exactly what he signed up when he joined SHIELD many, many years ago.
"Are we sure these things are even going to stay dead with these weapons?" he shouted to May as he blasted another round. "Where the hell is Coulson? Word from the Hub, he's here someplace."

"He and Director Stark are inside, Blake, but I can't get any word in to them," May replied as she dodged a sword strike from a demon. "And I don't know if these things will stay dead or not!"
"So far, yes, they are staying dead," Claymore shouted to the agents as he put up another TK field to keep the dragon's blast from hitting them. "I would not bet on that lasting, though. Demons usually have a nasty habit of popping back up. And I'll see if I can get a countermeasure for the dragon."
"We figured as much about the regeneration," May said as she moved back toward Blake. "If I can find a way inside, I'm going in there to get Coulson and Stark. As far as I know, the director is without his armor, so that can't be good. Care to help me with the extraction? I really don't want to be made into S'mores by that dragon!"

Blake stood up and fired a few rounds at the demons. "I'd do anything rather than staying out here," he said ducking behind a wall. He flipped open his GPS and began to track Coulson and Stark. "May, they're in the main gala room. I'm getting some huge mystic energy spikes coming from below. Sh*t, I'd say there's at least a level 10 mystic down there. And I'm not talking about Kari MacFeorais."
"Get us in there. I'll cover you."

"Perhaps we can be of help?"
Kurt Wagner and Amanda Sefton had been in New York trying to talk to a potential student at the urging of Emma Frost, but the meeting was cut short when Liam MacFeorais' call came over the commlink.
"Nightcrawler! Amanda!" Liam shouted as he put up another barrier to keep the dragon's fire away from them. "Maybe my uncle did hear my distress call and will get our dragons here soon!"
"I forgot, Blake," May said as she shook her head. "The X-Men have three big dragons besides Lockheed. I really need to make sure our mystic intel is updated."
"If you two will get closer to us, then I can teleport us inside," Kurt said as he looked up at the dragon on the roof of the mansion. "Amanda, what Agent Blake said a moment ago about the level 10 mystic. Any idea who or what might be causing this?"

Thirty seconds ago, Naomi was inside of the mansion, fighting to protect some innocent bystanders. Fifteen seconds ago, she came across a fairly large fellow with a lot of drool. Ten seconds ago, she was tossed outside of a window; she was inside of a car parked across the street from the mansion three seconds later.
Countless cuts across her dress and skin later, she let out a serous moan of pain while she pulled herself up and out of the car, sliding out of the now shattered window with slightly less grace than she had entering. "That....was a woozy..." she muttered softly to herself while she used the car to brace herself up and return to her feet. Had it not been for her cybernetics and healing factor, it was likely that something would've been broken. Instead, she was just in a buttload of pain.
Unfortunately, Armitage didn't have a timeout, and the demons outside of the mansion began to converge. One of them swiped at the teen, but she managed to fight through her pain and dodge out of the way. Mid-crouch, she swooped the legs out from under the demon and punched it in the face on the way down. As the others moved in to attack, she gracefully flipped over the car, kicking her shoes off at the peak of her flip before landing on the roof of the vehicle and ripping her dress to increase mobility.
Typically, Naomi was a modest girl and would never do anything to risk showing her skivvies in public, which is why she decided to wear spandex shorts underneath her dress.
As Armitage began to re-enter the battle, a demon in the crowd rocketed a spear toward her. Thanks to some quick use of TK, the weapon floated slowly into her hands. Sweet, thanks! she shouted before leaping back into combat, using the spear as a staff as she attempted to hold off the crowd of attackers.
It'd probably be easier if she didn't follow the whole "no killing" thing.

"And Izzy said to meet her here?" Jayce Starkweather mumbled under his breath as he stood outside the Hellfire Club mansion and saw all manner of demons causing chaos. Although usually based in London, Jayce and his compatriots had come to New York for a meeting of Shadowhunters before the great Mystic Council meeting in San Francisco a few days from now.
"This is utter insanity," Jayce said to no one in particular as he pulled a gleaming seraph blade, a sword of the angelic Warhost, and used it to slice into the demons that had started to congregate around him and his teammates. He took a quick look at others engaged in this fight and noticed SHIELD operatives, X-Men and possibly some Avengers battling the demon horde. He saw a young woman with a staff battling off her share of the creatures, but she was not going for the kill. That made no sense to Jayce, but then again, many things the superhero community did left him wondering most of the time.
"Why don't you kill them? They're demons, not possessed souls," he said to the young woman with the staff as he swung his blade and beheaded a demon. "Showing them mercy will likely do little good."

Naomi had almost forgotten how good of a stick fighter she was until this whole fiasco.
Of her three primary fighting styles, one of them being a Chinese martial art that focused heavily on weapon and staff usage, something like this should've been obvious, but she mainly stuck to using hand to hand or her powers when engaged in combat. Considering that she had been fending off about a dozen demons and hadn't been touched since she stole the spear and turned it into a staff, that would have to change in the future.
Time to raid Gambit's locker, perhaps?
Telekinesis aiding in her actions, Armitage twirled the makeshift staff and flung it into demon's ribcage. Using a slingshot effect with her TK, she then launched the weapon with increased force into several other demons, bouncing the rapidly spinning stick off of her opponents in a manner similar to Captain America when he hurled his shield at those unlucky enough to face the man. After three seconds and a good seven downed demons, the staff returned to her hands as she went into a pivot and slammed the weapon into the skull of another demon. This one, being tougher than the others, went into a staggered step rather than falling, which prompted the teen X-Man to follow up with another strike into the back of the knee. Another rapid twirl saw the wooden weapon crack the demon in the chin.
And then it came back down on the top of its head. Yup, he was out for good now, just in time for Armitage to respond to the chastising blonde for not killing those she put down. "That, sir, is racist!" she exclaimed before letting off an energy blast into the distance, blowing another demon across the street into the fancy, decorative fencing that once magnificently surrounded the Hellfire manor--now it was more of a mangled mess than anything--and threw up a TK barrier to protect her from a blast of fire and a few throwing knives.
"Demons are people too you know! Two of my friends are demons! Things can't just automatically be sentenced to death because they're different. That makes me no better than mutant haters."
In reality, Naomi just couldn't bring herself to kill, even if those she fought were out to kill her. It was easy enough for her to tune it out when others around her committed those acts, but when it came to herself, even attempting to pull the trigger made her queasy. She was a Weapon Plus assassin that couldn't even kill. That was a plus in her book.

Jayce wanted to ram his head into a tree when he heard the girl talk about demons being people too. Talk like that had gotten many novice Shadowhunters killed. It had almost gotten several of his current teammates killed during a very bad incident in Whitechapel a few years ago.
"My apologies," he huffed at the young woman. "I forget that the mutant community and their supporters, or at least some at any rate, view all the down-world races as brethren. Thank the MacFeorais clan for that way of thinking!" he continued as he continued to slice into attacking demons with his blade. Perhaps she was right in this case, or at least partially so. No one had said why the demons were here, so keeping a few alive to get intel was likely a good option at the moment.
"Do you have any idea why these infernal things are here? I thought this was a charity event, not a gathering of the great demon houses!" Jayce asked the young woman as he felt something whip past the back of his head. The demons had now been joined by some other form of the undead. They were most likely zombie ninjas, but Jayce didn't want to take the time to ask them too many questions. "Lovely! Ninjas. I feel like I'm in some Grade B horror film!" he said as he leaped up and cracked a ninja in the chest with the soles of his boots.

There was an orange blast in the sky as Sam Guthrie, the X-Man known as Cannonball, rocketed through the Manhattan skyline and into the middle of the fight. "Moonstar! Claymore! Looks like you could use some help!" Guthrie shouted over his commline as he zipped between buildings and almost into the side of some flying beast of burden that was not quite a dragon but could not be classified as much of anything else he knew about. "OK, did someone open up a Potter book and make the things in it magically appear?"
"Not sure about any of this, Cannonball!" Claymore replied as he protected himself and Dani from another dragon's fiery blast. "And did you see my Uncle Mal?"
"Nope, sorry, no Mal in sight during my flight," Sam replied as he barreled into one of the flying creatures and sent it sprawling. "That thing stinks!"

Alastair had been stabbing demons left and right, hoping all the while that one of the dragon-riding MacFeorais bunch would show up and start a demon barbecue, but the dragons all seemed to be of the demon variety. "Bollocks!" he shouted as some demon with a double-sided axe hefted it in his direction, but then the axe fell to the ground as the demon vaporized. "I didn't do that! But I will kiss the person who did! Unless it's that Deadpool fellow, in which case I will certainly not kiss him!" he spouted as he turned and saw Jack's housekeeper, Mrs. Brown, and that fellow Mr Dragotti in the distance. "Ah! I think I'm needed over there!"

Lucian Ambrose, called The Grey by his pack because of the white hair at the top of his head, had been with the other Shadowhunters in the middle of this fight, grumbling under his breath as Jayce ran off, found the prettiest girl in the area, and took to impressing her with his demon hunting skills. This girl was more of a power house than many of the Shadowhunters, so Lucian was sure Jayce was having a time of it.
As the werewolf saw his old friend Alastair Blackwell run off, he felt the icy blast of Galindor above him. Or he hoped it was Galindor, the blue and purple winter dragon of the MacFeorais clan. If it was something else, he didn't want to think about it all that much at the moment. His love Elizabeth Herondale was still inside the Hellfire Mansion, along with her daughter Izzy and Izzy's father, William Rydenborne. For a time Rydenborne had run with the Shadowhunters, but greed and a lust for power had pushed the man into darker pursuits.
"They will be fine," he said to himself as he watched the demons in the fight turn to vapor and vanish. There were still undead warriors to be dispatched, so he set about doing that by using the increased speed and agility that were part of his werewolf curse, slashing them with two short swords he carried for fights when he could not change his form.

Liam finally sat down and watched as the last of the demons that had been overrunning the Hellfire Mansion vanished. Some turned to smoke and wafted away on the air, and others crawled back into the sewers. He prayed no one else would come into contact with them as this night slowly passed.
"And...all the other X-Men just up and vanished? And the students, too?" Liam asked himself as he looked around. The city block was littered with demon bodies, but, thankfully, human casualties seemed to be far less daunting than he anticipated. Then he saw the students and Sam and Dani trying to get the wounded to the EMTs in the area. Liam had been so deep in battle mode he'd lost track of almost everything, and that extended to where his family was at the moment.
"Hey, Claymore!" Cannonball yelled as he finished helping get someone in an ambulance. "I heard over the comm that most of your family left already."
"Yeah, my Uncle Donal is screaming in my head right now, Cannonball," Liam replied as he tapped his temple. "Back to Ireland apparently. My brothers Finn and Ichigo got hurt."
"You gonna head there?" Sam asked as Liam scratched his head.
"Later. I need to get my gear back to the armory," Liam added as he watched one of the other X-Men mystics open a portal back to San Francisco, and slowly, the group returned home.
