The Hellfire Club is making a resurgence in Manhattan and London, and the combined might of the Lord Imperial, Sebastian Shaw, and London's Gray King, Michael Priest, are combined to bring the New York social scene its grandest party in ages. But demons of all stripes lurk in the shadows as Priest has brought many of the preternatural world under Shaw's roof for this grand gala.
But the demons also come in the guise of the baseline human community as names like Hereward, Roxxon and Weapon Plus start to pop up and cause great concern for anyone with an ability outside the norm.
The X-Men, newly settled in San Francisco, are finding that Purity and other hate groups have followed them to their new home, and art is used as a thinly veiled assault on the mutant community at the Mutant Kitsch exhibit.
The Avengers are also off to find Quicksilver so he can take them to the Scarlet Witch. Her spell to rid the world of mutants seems to have started to unravel the very fabric of the world as we know it because of the affect it had on the group called the Witchbreed, mystic mutants dating back to the very dawn of time.
