Age: she was born in the 1500s and grew up in a time when witches were hunted

Parents: George and Sarah MacLeod
Sarah and George both died in the hunts. Sarah was burned at the stake, and George was pressed under stones
Living grandparent: Malcolm MacLeod (he dates back to the 1300s) raised his granddaughters
Siblings: Afton, Piper, Rose
Powers: all magic. Strengths are in precognition and energy manipulation and blasts
Weakness: enchanted weapons, posions, certain spells--but apparently not a broken heart
Weapons: usually carries a large sword (one of those things that look like no one can lift it) or swordgun

Unlike her sisters Afton and Piper, Sydney was born in London. The family had to venture to the city from the hills of Scotland, and Sydney, then named Winifred, could not wait to make her arrival. And while she did grow up in Scotland, Sydney always had a love of cities that seemed to be born within her.
The MacLeods kept their following of the old religion secret until the girls' mother Sarah, went to help a neighbor and was exposed. After she was burned at the stake, their father took them to live in the farthest reaches of Scotland with their grandfather Malcolm. The family seemed to stay safe until George was also accused of witchcraft and pressed to death. Malcolm kept moving the family and training the girls in the art he had learned, namely demon hunting.
Sydney may be the most reckless when it comes to fighting, but until now she has also been the one least likely to feel comfortable in her own magical skin.
