OOC: Guys, jumping ahead so James can post his character Holland. Will move Barry's app tomorrow.--K
IC:
Barry Allen, aide to San Francisco Mayor Sadie Sinclair and a mutant speedster in his own right, stood in front of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and looked up at the sign. It read: "A Celebration of Mutant Kitsch. An art installation by Guy DeMonde exploring the mutant experience."
"Exploring it with huge death machines," Barry said as he looked at the program for the show. There were people all around dressed up like X-Men, and that was creepy enough. But having decommissioned Sentinels looming over the place was another thing entirely. "Oh, this is so wrong in so many ways!"
After he made his way inside, Barry looked at the exhibit cases and saw a lot of weird things. Power dampening collars. Debris from a building from Genosha. An old X-Men uniform or two. Pictures of dead mutants in the streets of New York after the Planet X riots.
"Makes my skin crawl," Barry said under his breath as he looked at the people checking out the exhibit. It made his stomach turn.

Holland turned a corner and took a step back. There was a larger crowd than he thought, quite a few dressed like known mutants. He cleared his throat then proceeded toward the exhibit. He waved a hand slightly over his arm mini computer, trying to be as casual as possible. "Prime 7.. initialize motion activation scanning." He whispered to his comlink.
*This is annoying... I wasnt expecting so many people.*
His eyes surveyed the area quickly, a slight glowing blue/white shine glazed over his eyes as he scanned the area. The scan was producing a grid of everything he seen, targeting projected paths, empty spaces and possible black spots of vision of cameras and people.
[Activating surveillance scan..... Shall I override the security core? Perhaps cause a fire alarm?]
"No.. thats too suspicious on opening day of an exhibit.. I will have to find another way. Just keep up surveillance and download its security access to my mini." Holland whispered, blinking he switched off the grid scan.
He slowly approached the exhibit part with the Sentinels not paying any attention to any other part of the exhibit.

"Bloody 'ell," Jules whispered to herself as she entered the exhibit. She had seen Holland slip in here but lost him in the crowd of people. There was quite a crowd too. A lot more people than she would have expected to be at something like this. Thank goodness she was dressed in jeans and sequined tank top because if she had been in her uniform people might have thought her part of the exhibit.
She passed a section of an series of stomach churning photographs and then a collection of power inhibiting devices. "Who the 'ell decided this was a good idea? Disgusting," she muttered as she kept her eyes peeled for Holland. She wasn't sure if she would hug him or smack him once she found him though. Yes, she might have left before he did but he didn't leave her any contact info to get in touch with him.
Maybe he didn't want to stay in contact with her though. That was always a possibility.
"Miss, would you like to get your picture taken next to the Sentinel? This is probably the closest you'll ever be to one!" a man asked. He had his professional equipment set up and was charging ten bucks a photo.
Jules rolled her eyes. "No, luv, I've been inside one before," she smirked as she walked off.

Holland swallowed hard watching a familiar face walk through the crowd. His hands were shaking nervously. He felt like he was sweating heavily.
[Holland.. Are you ok.. Massive increase in body heat and heart rate is sensed]
Holland nodded as if Prime 7 could see him, he couldnt speak. *Never thought I would see her again.. what do I say.. will she punch me.. slap me.. Where do I even begin to explain what happen to me*
He noticed the photographer approach her about taking a photograph with the sentinel. *bingo* He pushed his way toward Jules. He locked arms with her, "Aww com'on hun, we flew all the out 'ere for this."
He motioned for the photographer as he turned Jules around to face him, he leaned close to her and whispered close to her ear. "play along.. please, you can hit me later. I need to get close to that Sentinel."

Juliet smiled but her eyes were shooting daggers at Holland. "Well, alright ... I suppose," she said to Holland and then looked at the photographer. "My fiancé loves robots. Flies all over the bloody world looking for them. Sometimes, 'e just leaves without even telling me. I still love 'im, though. He's just the sweetest!" She grabbed Hollands cheek and squeezed it a bit harder than it actually looked.
"Okay, a picture for the lovely couple," the photographer said as he prepped his camera. "And ... Oh shit. Sorry folks, I need to grab something. I'll be right back. Excuse me a moment," he said as he hurried off.
Juliet watched for a moment until the guy was completely out of view, before she turned to Holland and threw her hands out in front of her. "Where the 'ell 'ave you been? I left for a week. A bloody week, and when I came back you were gone. Nobody knew where you where an' you didn't leave any info for me to get in touch with you!" She placed her hands on her hips and glared.
"I thought we were ... friends. Now, wot the 'ell are you doing 'ere?"

Holland smiled slightly rubbing his cheek, he deserved probably more than a pinch of the cheek so what was going to suck it up. He looked around, seeing everyone was too focused on the exhibit to pay them much mind, he stepped closer putting a hand on her arm. "I do regret leaving without a word. If I told anyone where I was going I know you A. would hate me more especially for not telling you before hand. B. follow me there."
He looked back at the Sentinel "Not saying I couldnt have used your expertise thats for sure. and No its not that I am holding you back incase you get hurt, cause I have much more respect for you than that macho crap. .. "
"there are things about these robots I am attached to, ... and what happened before. I didnt want to risk what happen to me to happen to you and never able to get you back from the other side." He placed a hand on his tattoo carvings. "If you want to know.. I will tell you all about it over drinks."
He turned to look at the Sentinel, his eyes shine over again with the blue glow as he scans the materials.
[Material Transfer Completed.. Digitization in progress]
Holland looks to Jules as his eyes turn to normal. "I really am sorry I left the way I did, after all I think you owed me a drink." He smirked.

Jules pressed her lips together and shook her head. She was fighting back a smile. "Drinks? I do remember something about drinks," she said and then finally grinned a little bit. "I was just 'aving drinks with me new crew. I'm working for SHIELD now. Well, tomorrow is my first day in training. I think I'll still be able to keep part time with the X-men, though," she whispered quietly.
"And, no, I'm not mad at you for running out. Well, maybe a little." She watched him work, and glanced over her shoulder every once in awhile to make sure no one was coming over towards them. "You could 'ave told me where you were going. If you didn't want me to follow, I wouldn't 'ave. I've just 'ave 'ad so many people ... guys ... run out on me without saying anything, it gets to be a bit annoying after a while."
She stepped in front of Holland when a family walked by. She rolled her eyes. "Why would anyone want to bring their family to see this? Why would anyone want to see this? It's completely mental." She looked down at Holland.
"Is there something I can 'elp you with, luv?"

Holland couldnt picture a former agent back in training, he smiled thinking of all the things she is probably teaching them instead. "SHIELD, I would figure you could teach them a few things. If you ever need a good gear tech, I'm your man." He whispered back as he finished scanning the Sentinel.
He watched the family continue on to other parts of the exhibit then turned a glance to Jules then back to the family. "Those are the same kind of people that close their blinds and pretends none of whats happening in the world is real and will cross the street just to avoid a homeless person."
"None of this surprises me at all." He looks away almost disgusted with humanity in general.
Holland turned to face Jules, he was inches away from holding her hand when he noticed the photograph hurrying back toward them. He smiled to her taking her hand, "How about that drink, huh." He started walking off.
"Sorry Mate, I already lost interest 'n this murderous machine. Its probably a Fake 'nyway." He smirked walking off with Jules in hand.
"Prime.. download data to my mini"
[Data transfer initiated .... ...... Transfer complete.. Initiating Skyline Grid Surveillance]
He looked back at the exhibit then tugged Jules a bit, "Hey.. remind me to give you something later after we catch up a bit."

Barry looked at his phone and smiled when he saw the text from Darcy.
<<Creepy creepy nonsense. I hate this damned exhibit>> he texted back and then continued to read about Darcy's date Agent Sexy Pants. <<He is lucky to have you! If he forgets that, tell him he'll have to talk to me>>
Barry looked over at the artist GuyDeMonde as he strolled around the exhibit with an Emma Frost impersonator on one arm and a Jean Grey one on the other. Barry snapped a quick picture and sent it to Darcy. <<See what I mean?>> He snapped another one of the Sentinel and sent it to Darcy as well. <<Some of the X-Men better show soon. And I won't wait up ;-) >>

"Oh my stars and garters," Hank muttered as he made his way into the exhibit hall. The Sentinels outside were another grim reminder of what the X-Men had left behind in Westchester, and seeing them here made him very sad indeed. The plastic-injected Emmas, Jeans and Betsys were also a tad disturbing. "Emma will scream when she hears about this."
Beast saw the mayor's aide, Barry Allen, texting away madly, so he'd check in with the man later. He looked around for anyone who might be an actual teammate and was pleased to see Hayley MacFeorais there with her friend Matthew Skylark. "I take it Hellfire was not to your liking?" he asked as Hayley turned and smiled at Hank. "Hello, Matthew. Good to see you again."
"Matthew's granddaughters have to write on the exhibit for a class, so he invited me along to help filter the truth from the fiction," Hayley replied as she gave Hank a hug.

"Bunch of fascist crap is what this is," Theresa Cassidy said as she walked up behind Hank, Hayley and Matthew. "I hate this nonsense. And who in their right mind wants to become some cut rate X-Woman? Or is this supposed to be the new rage for Halloween?"
"Apparently Emma is very popular in a costume sense," Hayley said with a giggle before turning back to Matthew. "Should we go find River and Saffron?"
"I'm sure they're fine," Skylark replied as he pointed to where his granddaughters had wandered off to. "And I can understand why this is upsetting you all so much. Many in my tribe had the same reaction to a Summer of Love exhibit last summer. It was disturbing, but not as terrible as some of this exhibit."
Siryn looked over on the word "tribe" and finally remembered Matthew was part of a group Hayley hung out with in the 1960s. Time travel stuff always gave Terry a headache. "Oh God. Look at that phony baloney Wolverine and Cyclops mugging for the cameras!"
