As she saw all the women in the fancy dresses, Bethany thought back to her home world. There no one but the privileged could afford something so extravagant. Most in her class saw such things as a waste of money that could be used for things like food or medicine.
"I have no idea what a movie night entails here," Erinyes said to Major Domo as she saw more people enter the room. "I don't remember the last time I actually saw a movie to be honest. And movies about the glorious leader of our world were not exactly my favorites," she added as she stared at Kari. "It still scares me that people I know are not the same here. I don't know who to trust and who not to trust. No. Let me correct that. I trust you, Major Domo. Everyone else? That will take time."

''I'm a bit curious about which movie everyone will view, Erinyes. Perhaps some students will enjoy a comedy while
others might prefer horror films,'' Major Domo said with a shrug. Curiosity caused him to tilt his head to one side
after Erinyes mentioned movies about her world's leader. ''Does your leader enjoy seeing images of himself?
Mojo loves observing his own reflection. As a matter of fact, the entire dimension where I'm from is named after him.''
Major Domo rolled his eyes at the memories of seeing Mojo's features carved on a citadel, etc. He smiled at Erinyes
after she revealed she trusted him. ''Thank you. You are the only person I can trust as well. The X-Men themselves?
Not really. Our history was quite nasty!'' he said as he frowned. Glancing at Erinyes again, he seemed fascinated.
''We seem to have a whole lot in common, Erinyes. Our masters were cruel and we happened to be slaves.
Perhaps we were destined to be together.''

Kari smiled as she looked over at Sasha. She had seen Ali about an hour ago, but she wasn't sure Ali was ready to go yet. "Ali was in her room getting ready the last time I saw her, Sasha. If you like, I can call her telepathically to see if she's ready."
"I can run upstairs if you want, Mum," Faith said as she stood in the doorway to the rec room. "I don't mind."
"Your call, Sasha," Kari added as she looked over toward Faith.

"My world's ruler looked like her," Erinyes said to Major Domo as she quietly motioned toward Kari. "And they had statues of her everywhere. I know here she is a hero, but just seeing her makes me nervous. I'll have to get over it eventually, I guess."
Erinyes thought about the movie choices that awaited them once the students arrived. "I hope it's a comedy. I don't like to watch horror films. After seeing so many people hurt, movies like that remind me too much of real life. My brother Joshua, when he could do it, used to watch nature films. He wanted...no he wants to be a botanist. He has to be alive. Him and my brother Jericho. I wish I could draw so I could show you what they look like. I know telepathy won't work on an android. I'll figure out a way."
As she thought about everyone there, Erinyes mulled over what Major Domo had said. "Yes, fate must be bringing us together for a reason."

Pete made it a point to pour himself a double scotch and then lift it to Emma, smirking, before taking a drink. He had already known that she was going to be in 'Crazy Emma mode' tonight. He rolled his eyes and then looked back at Dana. "Yep, broke Phil's nose, twice. Not on purpose ... well, maybe the first time. Second time was definitely by accident. And, yeah, I think it's because Jason Jacoba is there. He's 'er old partner by from when she was with Spy Corps. Two of them were like two peas in a pod, like best friend thing though. Never romantically, I think I would 'ave killed 'im if 'e tried anything with 'er," Pete said taking another drink.
"I just don't like the fact that we may lose 'er to SHIELD," he said with a shake of his head.
He looked over at Major Domo and nodded. "I 'ave run into Spiral before. Not something I'd want to do again by any means," he laughed. "And as far as 'er not saying anything nice 'bout me. I don't give a flying fu- Owww... Dana!" He stopped when his fiancé jabbed her pointed heel into the top of his foot. She gave him the 'behave' look.
Pete smiled. "I'm so 'appy to 'ave you to keep me outta trouble, luv. Oi, glad you didn't know me back when I was starting bar fights and getting me arse tossed in jail. I bet you wouldn't 'ave even given me a second glance," he winked.

"Oh, you really think I wouldn't have found my way to your side? I'm not exactly an angel myself, you know," Dana said with a giggle but then stopped to look at Pete's foot. "And sorry. I forget these things are so damned sharp. Need me to do a quick once over to heal it up? You can't dance the night away on a bad foot."
Dana looked over at Major Domo and Erinyes and tried not to think about who had sent them and why. {{I hope Spiral comes nowhere near us}} she said telepathically to Pete. {{And certainly not Mojo either. Dear Goddess no. You know, maybe going back to England soon really isn't that bad of an idea. I know you have to tomorrow with the new job and all. But I mean the whole relocation thing. Let's talk about it after this nonsense}}
As more people wandered in, Dana thought about Juliet. "Look, she likely won't jump ship until we get married. I'm sure she doesn't want to be off on some mission when we do say I Do. And we can scope this out. See if it's on the up and up. I don't want her becoming some mutant poster girl for SHIELD."

Sasha's expression was one of interest behind his mask after Kari revealed Alison's location. ''Thank you for the
quick reply.'' He noticed Faith in the doorway and smiled. ''Thank you for the sudden offer. Please go upstairs and let
Alison know where I am.'' Although Sasha could have walked up the stairs to where Alison was, Faith seemed eager to help
and he couldn't refuse her.

''Your ruler was a woman?!'' Major Domo inquired as his eyes widened in shock. He glanced at Kari, but his shocked
expression remained. That was when he looked sheepish again. ''I automatically thought of your world's leader as a man.
I apologize for my sexist thoughts.'' He heard Erinyes while she mentioned movies and her siblings.
Major Domo understood why she was uncomfortable with viewing horror movies due to her life. *I can't imagine Erinyes
wishing to observe corpses in films even though they are false. There are probably countless memories of actual dead
bodies within her mind* he thought. He looked thoughtful for a few seconds. ''Do you remember that pink stone you gave
me a couple months ago that could teleport me to various locations? Assuming your siblings are in your world, we could
travel there and rescue them. You won't have to draw or describe them in detail.'' He smiled at her after she said how
fate united them before he noticed Pete Wisdom.
''I never forgot about you, Mr. Wisdom,'' Major Domo said. His smile remained on his face. ''I don't think anybody
likes to come across Spiral another time. That is assuming they survive the first encounter.'' The sight of Dana stepping
on Pete's foot amused him. He seemed a bit uncomfortable when she studied him.

"Major Domo, I am not offended in the least," Erinyes said as she looked at the android. "You don't know my world, and you are used to Mojo running everything. And as for the pretty pink stone, it likely won't work to get back to my world anymore," she continued as she thought about Joshua and Jericho and what might be happening to them. "And my own power might not be enough to do the trick. But that doesn't mean we can't try, right?" she added as she started to think about the stone. "I'll have to do some calculations to find the best time to enchant it. Magic is more science than many are likely to admit, and there are always things that need to be planned out so something doesn't go wrong."
"A keltara stone?" Kari asked as Erinyes looked up at her and nodded. "Full moon is next week."
Erinyes nodded again. "Thank you," she said quietly. "We don't call them that, but I'm guessing they are the same thing. I'm just afraid about you coming along, Major Domo. In my world there is a class of people that are, more or less, androids, but they were once humans who had clockwork mechanisms fused into them. I guess that makes them more like cyborgs. How would you feel going to a place like that? They are not treated with the greatest respect, and I would not want them to hurt you."

"I'll leave my bag down here," Faith said as she set it on a table near the mini-bar. She wasn't used to wearing evening gowns, and she tugged at it a bit before she turned to exit the room. "Sasha, I'll be back in a minute." Faith was not sure that going to this party was going to be the happiest thing she had done since she came to this world, but it had to beat the constant stream of battles the X-Men had been involved in recently. "Finn, please don't bother Ichigo too much," she said to her twin before she exited the room in search of Alison.

''I'm happy you're not offended, Erinyes,'' Major Domo said until he heard about the pink stone not working any longer.
He frowned at the inability to help her with saving her siblings and perhaps other slaves. ''Keltara stone?'' he asked
as he noticed Kari. ''Thank you for your concern, but I should be fine during our rescue mission.'' Major Domo was
curious at the mention of other androids. ''I am certain you can protect me if they try to hurt us, Erinyes.''
Major Domo's shrug happened to be casual. ''I'm not respected in Mojo's world. As a matter of fact, the other reason
why I'm willing to help you is because it's my way of thanking you, Erinyes. You enabled me to escape from the Mojoverse.
Although I'm programmed to worship Mojo, I find him repulsive! You're the reason why I'm free.''
A mental image of Mojo flailing and shouting was why Major Domo seemed worried. ''Hopefully Master Mojo won't discover
a way to get to this dimension. He'll attempt to find where we are and punish us or worse. If I remember correctly, we
are meant to capture Spiral for him. Mojo will assume we're rebels and cancel us for eternity! He's probably
ranting about ratings in his dimension.''

"Mojo can take his job and shove it, non?" Gambit said to Major Domo as the android sat next to his friend Erinyes. "He's not exactly gonna win Employer of de Month."
"I doubt Mojo would win anything," Erinyes replied as she looked up at Gambit. "And if he tries to come here..."
"Sugah, we ain't seen hide nor hair of that windbag," Rogue said as she walked over to Gambit. "Kinda like it that way."
"Please. Don't think we want him to show up. Far from it!" Erinyes protested as she looked back toward Major Domo. "Major Domo was just worried about my brothers back in my world. They might be in need of help."
"Sounds like y'all are planning to go get 'em," Rogue asked as Erinyes stared up at her. "You might want to think that out carefully. What I heard you say about your world makes it sound like hell."
"We seen enough hell to last us a bunch of lifetimes," Remy added as he went to slip his arm around Anna but thought better of it. "Sorry, chere. Old habits."

Erinyes smiled as she looked at her android companion. "Thank you for wanting to save my brothers. You could have just disappeared into the night or left me here alone, Major Domo. We are both free because we are in this together."
As she thought about The Tank and all that was involved in getting anyone out of it, Bethany kept mulling over the fact that the Rydenbornes seemed to be as powerful in this world as they were in her own. "I can't help but wonder if anyone else in this world has been to my world. No one would likely want to. The Tank is not exactly the vacation destination of the universe."
Bethany looked over at the man named Sean. He was waiting for a Rydenborne to show up for this party. "I pray his Rydenborne is not one I have had dealings with. I don't think I could stand seeing one of them right now."

sheepish after Erinyes mentioned the possibility of Mojo arriving. ''I apologize for mentioning Mojo trying to locate
us and causing you to worry, Erinyes. I'm just worried about what he might do to us.'' Major Domo faced Gambit again
after the latter said he saw hell. He seemed ashamed for a few moments.
''Please accept my apology for forcing you to endure hell in the Mojoverse, Gambit and Rogue. I'm aware of allowing
Mojo to enslave others for high ratings. I recall standing by him and never doing anything to prevent him from hurting
slaves such as me.'' Major Domo refused to imagine what Mojo would have done to him if he refused to obey his every
order. He remembered viewing Mojo ripping slaves limb from limb due to poor television ratings. ''There's a reason
why I must always obey Mojo, Rogue and Gambit.''

"Hell? What? Did I miss something?" Miri said as she came running into the room, her white, gold and silver patterned dress shimmering as she moved. "Sandrine lost her earring in the drain. We got it out, but it was annoying," she said as she came over to Sean and kissed him. "So, I hope I didn't hold everyone up." "No, of course not," Emma said with all the warmth of a glacier as she saw Miri in a white dress. "I take it you forgot something?""Emma, you don't corner the market on any one color," Miri said as she tried not to burst out laughing. "Sorry, but you own the color white as much as Mozart owned the A major note. Now, please, let's all try to enjoy the evening. I'm sure the silent auction will hold a few surprises.""I'm just praying those are the only surprises we get," Emma added as she looked back to Scott. "So, darling, as soon as Alison gets here, I think we should depart. I really don't want us being called the Late X-Men when we arrive."

"Homme, I meant hell in general. As in you not wanting to walk into it yourself," Gambit said as he was a bit surprised by Major Domo's apology. "And I know Mojo did not treat you well. Made you do things. But thank you for stepping up now."
Gambit glanced at Rogue and wondered if she was as surprised as he was by Major Domo's apology. "You two sure you want to go off on this rescue mission alone?"
"I'm only sure that I want to see my brothers again," Erinyes said as she looked at Gambit and then glanced back at Miranda Rydenborne. "And if I have to go alone one day, I will. And if Major Domo wants to help me, I'll welcome his aid."

*Faith seems enthusiastic about summoning Alison. It is not as if I'm forcing her to do anything against her will. I would never threaten to remove my mask in order to get her to do whatever I wish. It would be cruel to use my skeletal features to frighten someone. I also don't wish to harm her with my ability to weaken others with a mere stare* Sasha thought. He turned to Kari and acknowledged her with a nod to let her know that he never forgot about her.

Bryce smiled at Duncan giving him a hug. "Indeed it has been a while since we've seen each other." She said hello to her family but a bigger smile appeared on Bryce's face seeing her mother enter the room. She hadn't seen her since arriving at the school. "Mom!"She said giving her a big hug."

Miri stayed very close to Sean as that short haired girl kept staring at her. She was aware that Erinyes was from another world and that the Rydenbornes made it hell for her and so many others. Miranda just had no clue what she could do to fix things.
"I'm glad I didn't hold up the show," she said as she reached up and returned Sean's kiss. "Sandrine is coming, but she's moping over our friends from the Arda. She knows why they likely won't go to this party, but she enjoys their company."
Miri grasped Sean's hand and watched as Bryce went to hug Kari. "It's nice seeing happy, normal things for a change."

"Bryce!" Kari said as she gave her daughter a hug. "I know. I finally made it back home, and here we all are, going off to this silly party. I'm sorry I've been away so much."
"Uhm," Ichigo said as he walked over. "More siblings?"
"Yes, Ichigo," Kari said softly as she kept one arm around Bryce. "Another time tossed son. Ichigo, this is Bryce."
"Nice to meet you," the red haired teen said as he extended his hand to Bryce.
"Ichigo has a sister named Kei, and a brother named Yuki," Kari said as she smiled at Bryce. "Yuki is adopted, too."
"And he is smart enough not to be going to this party," Ichigo grumbled as Kari reached over and hugged him as well. "I need to talk to Bryce for a minute," she said as she pulled her daughter aside. "I know you are likely very aware that this is not friendly ground we will be going to, Bryce. Are you familiar with the Hellfire Club at all?"

"I hope you're right," Kari said to Bryce as she looked over at Finn. He seemed fine, but having him go anywhere near his father, Michael Priest, was always a bit of a crap shoot. "There are apparently going to be two parties. One for the older crowd, and one for the late high school and college group. I'm sure Michael is using this event to vet new members, but I don't want him using it to pull Finn and Faith into anything they shouldn't be involved in. He's likely still furious about what Logan and I did to get them here. I know. I need to calm down, right?"
Kari stopped for a moment and tried to put thoughts of Michael Priest out of her head. "So, is your dance card filled up for the evening, Bryce? I saw Duncan over there before."

Major Domo wondered if the rest of the X-Men were willing to accept his apology. Although he helped Mojo torment the X-Men during many years, he was aware of what his master programmed him to do. Programming such as always complimenting Mojo, revealing television ratings, helping him with enslaving others for the TV cameras, etc. The main way to redeem himself was to help Erinyes free slaves since he had been a slave of another. Although he was created to be with Mojo, he felt safe near Erinyes since she never yelled at him or ranted about ratings. There weren't any Spineless Ones such as Mojo to dominate humanoid chattel in the X-Mansion.
