Hellfire Gala: Making a grand entrance

With all the new 'company' showing up made MJ's stomach flutter with nervousness slightly. The likes of Aro and Loki being her main concern. She did her best to smile at Loki but quickly adverted her eyes when he smiled back. She could feel Aro's eyes burning into her as he sipped on his blood wine. She grasped Reid's hand and pulled him back a bit so they were more alone. She knew being with Reid and his family, that this type of company was going to be a common occurrence. She would just have to get used to it. She loved Reid and his family, but their friends .... would take some warming up to.

"I don't know about you, but I'm curious to go down to the party." She said with a smile. Honestly, she wanted nothing more to stay up here with Reid but now that the "Circle of Villains" were in here, she couldn't wait to leave.

[Aro]

Aro smiled at Loki, his lips and teeth stained red with his 'wine.' "Ah, yes ... seize the evening. It has been far, far too long!" He took another sip and looked at the young red haired girl as she quickly pulled her young man away with her. He could feel the fear racing through her body, and he smiled again. He reached into his robe and pulled a small satchel of gold and rare jewels out and set them on the table.

"My contribution to your organization.... before I forget," he smirked at Priest and took another sip. "My rarest jewels from my private vault. Worth a lot more than you think. Put them to good use." He drained his glass and handed it to a passing serving girl. He smiled, brushing his hand against hers.

"Another, my darling." He sniffed slightly at her and smiled. She smelled divine. And it was not her perfume he was smelling. He glanced at Priest and smiled, knowing that Priest knew what he wanted. Then he looked back at the girl. "Perhaps, meet me on a bit later tonight, my dearest."

She smiled.

And then he smiled back.

[Reid Garrett]

Before he died, Reid's father Joshua had warned him about the likes of Aro and Loki. Joshua Garrett knew all too well that Michael Priest ran with a dangerous crowd, and he wanted to make sure his son was protected from them as much as possible. And now Reid needed to extend that protection to MJ.

"Uncle Michael, MJ and I are going to head down now," Reid said as he looped his arm so MJ could take it.  "Spencer, you and Finn are headed down to the youth party to kick it off, right?"

"Yes, Reid," Spencer said as she smiled at her cousin. "I have to make sure some of my friends are actually here. MJ, how you got Florence and the Machine to play for us is just amazing. Thank you again!"

"MJ is amazing," Reid said with a smile as he guided her past the crazy people and down the stairs. "I have something to give you later. I think it might ease your mind about what just happened up there. My dad gave it to me, and I think this would be the perfect night to share it with you," he whispered. "And the only reason those guys are here is because Uncle Mike had to make nice with the Mystic Council. They never come to our place. They never come to any of Uncle Mike's houses. I promise you, MJ, they are not going to be on the family Christmas card list or anything else. My dad would be screaming if he were here. And he'd make sure they never bothered you, just like I will do."

Reid was very happy to be away from the villainous crew with his uncle. Uncle Mike likely had more going on than Reid knew, but he didn't let Reid in on it for a reason. Maybe he was going to turn them over to SHIELD for all Reid knew?

 

[Alloy]

MJ wasn't stupid, she knew that Priest was a dangerous man. Still, though she liked him a lot even though she didn't completely trust him. But if she was honest with herself, she rather be on his side that against him. Plus, he was Reid's uncle and she'd hopefully be apart of this family in the near future. MJ turned to Reid as they walked slowly down the stairs. "I know your Uncle wouldn't put us in harms way, but that Aro guy gives me the creeps. I don't like being looked at like I'm the main course. And Loki .... Seriously, how can anyone trust him. I'm just waiting for Doctor Doom to show up and it'll be like the Evil League of Super Villains, or something," she said with a slight nervous laugh in her voice.

As they got close to the main door, she could hear the music and that seemed to comfort her a bit. She stopped and smiled at Reid before they walked in. "No matter what goes on tonight, I know I'm safe with you," she said kissing him sweetly before walking inside.
