Emma was not thrilled when Scott was called back to New York on business and left her with a meeting with Sadie Sinclair about some ridiculous good will event the city wanted to throw in time for the Christmas and Hanukkah season. The White Queen was not particularly warm and fuzzy when it came to the holidays. Too many bad memories of her father groping the family maid lingered in the back of Emma's mind to make Christmas anything more than a painful event in any year.
"And now I have this sour apple pie of an event to contend with," Emma muttered as she looked around at the space where the event was supposed to happen. "How am I supposed to transform this space into some Disney-esque event venue with cheery elves and dancing snow creatures?" she asked the mayor's mutant liaison Barry Allen. "I am not a magician, nor am I a casting director for Ice Capades."
"But you know magicians, a woman who controls the weather and an ice man," Barry said with a good-natured wink as he looked at Emma. "I'm serious! If anyone can transform Glen Park into a winter wonderland, it's the X-Men!"

Emma had enlisted Megan to get her to this meeting, so Pixie sat on a bench and waited as The White Queen chatted with the guy from the mayor's office. The look on Emma's face spoke volumes, and Megan could tell things were not going to end well if she didn't stick her nose into things a bit.
"Excuse me, Mr. Allen, but maybe if you gave Ms. Frost some sort of time frame, she might be able to say what can or can't be accomplished? I know it must seem that we are miracle workers, but it's not as tidy as all that. And what about things like food or security? Maybe you two should sit down over a couple of nice Holiday Spice Flat Whites at the Starbucks across the way?"
"Pixie, right?" Allen asked as Megan nodded in reply. "I remember you from that welcoming ceremony we had. You and the girl who used to make the fireworks. Jubilee?"
"Yes, correct on both counts," Pixie replied as she glanced at Emma. "Seriously, Mr. Allen, there are a lot of things to consider before something like this can take place."
