As soon as they got out the door Kari started walking faster than was likely necessary. She knew her sister was right, but she damned well hated to admit it.

The property around Raven's Rock consisted of a lake, several hills, farm land, a stretch for the horses to run and the training grove. For now she wanted to stay away from the training grove. "I have to show you something," she said as she turned back to Logan before starting to go round the road toward the lake. "I haven't been telling you everything that happened while you were out on the road with the Avengers."

When they finally got to the edge of the woods around the lake, Kari led Logan off to a small shrine to the Morrigu. It was set off in a small outcropping of rocks and trees, and anyone walking there could likely tell much magic had kissed the air surrounding that shrine. After saying a prayer, Kari waved her hand and watched as candles lit up the darkest corners of the outcropping.

"Before that damned party, I got a call from Phil Coulson. You know how he's been bugging me to join SHIELD? Well, he wanted to talk about some mystic items that popped up on the black market. He was going to pass along intel at the party, but that didn't go according to plan. But, I can tell he's right. I've been feeling the time stream and the ley lines going in and out of flux for weeks now. And it all seems to hit hardest around me...and that can't be good."

Kari didn't realize she had been pacing until she went to look at Logan and realized he was now behind her. "Maybe I'm just crazy, or maybe my time is coming, or maybe it's the Morrigu trying to get my attention, but we may..."

The candles started to flicker and relight as Kari tried to find the right words for this next part. Things like this were not as easy as they seemed.

"This may be the only chance we get, Logan. We've tried every six ways I can think of to do this. Once we tried in Madripoor, and then Viper's crew decided to try and kill half the island. And then Cailleach was going to take out that school in Belfast, and we had to put it off again. Your enemies. My enemies. X-Men. Avengers. Family and friends who need favors. If this is the moment, then I'm taking it."

Kari dug into her pocket and pulled a red ribbon from it. "I know everyone in that house and half the known world will get pissed. I don't care. This is about you and me. Not them. And I know the commitment is there, but, in light of everything we've dealt with, because of who we are, because...because I'm afraid if we wait a minute longer it will never happen, I want to seal this."

Her green eyes filling with tears, Kari knew Logan likely thought she was crazy and that, in short order, she might decide to wait because of her family in the manor house. She might have been strong in battle, but her family, at times, drove her insane.

As Kari held the ribbon in her hand, a rush of wind caught it and sent it dancing around the shrine. It lightly danced over their hands as if waiting for the command to stop and join them together.

"An rud is annamh is iontach," she said softly. "The thing that's seldom is wonderful. This love that we have is that thing. I have seldom seen anything like it, and I know it is wonderful. And if you'll have me, I want to make it forever, Logan. Here and now."

 Logan couldn't help but smirk as he slightly chuckled under his breath. Not that the situation was funny, not at all, but more of the unspoken bond that was there since the first day finally moving past the glance they always had that let them know, to actual words from Red's mouth.  " Here ya are, always being the poet, and me, ain't exactly the man with words, I let my actions prove my feelings, but ya know that bout me." Logan smirked as his hand slid behind Red's head, softly grabbing her hair firm yet not too hard, and kissed her about as passionate as they've been able to do so in months.  

 " Ya know our track record individually goes back as far  as we can remember, and some we can't, but theres somethin to say about the two us surviving together through times of death, times of life, through hell and places that seemed to be about just as close."  Logan stepped back for a moment, reached down into his jeans and pulled out a special cigar he had wrapped. He knelt down, his cowboy style hat, shrouding his face in shadows as the match sparked a fire and lit the cigar.  " Hah, ya know a union like this will royally piss off Stark, that in itself is a million reasons why to do it."  

 Logan turned back to face Red. " But ya know, the biggest reason, is i'd like nothin more than ta walk this journey, through blood and stone, through wind and fire, by your side, at your side, and ta kill anyone who tries ta remove this bond."  Logan calmy took off his hat and sat it down atop a stump sticking up out of the ground.  " Even if every single memory is taken from me, from us, they can't ever take what's grown inside here." Logan placed his hand over Red's heart.   " That is ours and will be always, Yes."

Kari tried her best to push the image of Tony Stark emoting like a crazed loon from her mind so she could concentrate on the moment at hand, but it was rather hard to do so. "Stark has enough to deal with at the moment with Adaryn, but yes, this would send him spinning. After all he has done to mutants and mystics alike, it might do him good to see real love at work. But, enough about him."

As the red ribbon danced on the air, Kari motioned for it to fall as she and Logan clasped hands. Technically they were supposed to have a celebrant there and witnesses, but Logan and Kari never did like to play by all the rules in the book. Prayers and vows were supposed to be uttered by them both, but after all the blood and beers, the injuries and the happier times, nothing more really needed to be said beyond Kari's question and Logan's answer.

The ribbon had a life of its own as it draped itself around their clasped hands, and Kari smiled as she looked into Logan's eyes. For the first time in what seemed like eternity, Kari felt at peace. She knew the feeling likely would not last as long as they both deserved, but she would take what she could get.

While she could have spouted poems that would say all that was in her heart, Kari knew she did not have to do that. Instead, she took her free hand and placed it over Logan's heart. "And if our memories fade or are forced from us by another's hand, what is in your heart, Logan, will sustain us until the end of days. Yes, and forever yes, for you."

Kari then used her free hand to pull Logan into another passionate kiss. As it broke, Kari looked at their joined hands and smiled. Some would want rings, and others might use tattoos in their place, but rings could be lost, and tattoos would not work with Logan's healing factor. She lightly touched both their ring fingers, and a soft circular glow formed a band on each of their hands. The glow faded, and the rings were not visible to the world, but Logan and Kari knew they were there.

"Not a tether to hold us back, Logan, but a life line when needed. Although most will never see them, these rings will help us find the other if we are ever lost or in trouble. It goes beyond a psionic link because they were forged from our love."

Kari then tugged Logan's hand and walked him over past the shrine to a small knot of trees. She cast a spell to conceal them from the world so they could have some much needed time alone.
