Glastonbury: Hunting Le Fay

Dane Whitman and Shevaun Haldane had been contacted by Branan MacFeorais after Morgan Le Fay had crawled out of the muck and caused all manner of bedlam at the Hellfire Club gala in New York. The Black Knight and Dark Angel figured they'd start their search in Glastonbury before heading to the Holy Isle of Avalon.

"I can only imagine what went on during that party," Dane said as he walked with Shevaun to the Chalice Well. "And I hate to think about what Le Fay wants to do to the world this time. My run-ins with her in the past have always been a nightmare."

"We're just lucky that Mys-Tech doesn't appear to be involved," Dark Angel replied as they kept walking. "Michael Priest is part of Hellfire, and he has had dealings with Mys-Tech before.  We may need to pay a visit to his ancestral home, and I am not looking forward to that. I'm used to dealing with all manner of darkness, but even he gives me a very uneasy feeling."

"Uneasy feeling? You are being way too kind," Dane replied. "He worked with the Nazis, the Red Skull and his Hydra lunatics. According to Branan, he hid a child from her parents. One of Branan's nieces to be exact. He's beyond any sort of mercy or understanding."

"He hid a child from her family?" Shevaun asked dumbfounded as Dane nodded in reply. "Didn't Priest do something equally reprehensible before? And Wolverine got involved? Priest must be insane to cross Wolverine."

Dark Angel had not seen the X-Men in a very long time, not since that whole debacle with Mys-Tech and the UnEarth. She knew Karenza and her very colorful family from dealings outside the X-Men's or Avengers' frames of reference. The fact the two "worlds" were merging would have made Dark Angel chuckle, but the stakes in this were no laughing matter.

"I've done research on Caroline Le Fay. She dabbles in magic as much as she does science. If she is indeed helping her mother, we might be in for more trouble than we can imagine. A de-aged Caroline is likely a very bad development, and one that might have a very decided mental instability. Her father is not exactly the soul of wisdom or kindness. Victor Von Doom. I would never have imagined Doom and Le Fay..."

"Knocking boots?" Dane said with only the slightest hint of a smile. "It is a pretty insane thought."

"Then again, who am I to judge, right?" Dane said with a wink. "I'm kidding. That is one image I really want to burn out of my mind. Doom is beyond freaky in the first place with his Doombots and that creepy castle of his. Add Morgan Le Fay into the mix, and it's unsettling to say the least. Now, isn't Brian supposed to meet up with us here soon? I thought we were all going to go to Avalon together. Maybe Wisdom is talking his ear off again? You know Pete, right? Business suit, cigarettes, flaming hot knives of death?"

"Of course I know Pete Wisdom," Shevaun replied as she looked up to the skies to see if anyone was flying in overhead, but there was no one to be seen just yet. "I do work with MI 13, you know. And yes, he is intense and is likely delaying Captain Britain. Since we are going to have to wait anyway, maybe we should check in with some of the locals to see if Morgan was poking about in the last few days. I just wish we had someone with us who had been at that party. Any clue would be of great benefit at this point."

"Yeah, I'm still trying to figure out how she got here in the first place. I thought Merlin had locked her up ages ago. Big surprise there," Dane added as he bent down and picked up a small blue-gray stone and palmed it as he and Shevaun kept walking.

"I'm sorry to have kept you waiting!" Brian shouted as he landed a few feet ahead of Shevaun and Dane. "Pete was being..."

"Pete. We get it," Dane replied as Shevaun chuckled under her breath. "No sign of Le Fay or her suddenly teenage daughter. And she has a man servant-slash-bodyguard named Mister Raven, and we haven't seen him either. For all we know, Morgan made him look like Matt Damon or Robert Pattinson."

"Perish the thought," Brian said as he gave Dane an odd look. "Pete is over near the lake. We should go meet up with him. He has that poor boy Emrys over there trying to part the veil. You can just imagine how much fun that has to be for Emrys."

"Oh, no doubt," Dane said as he looked in the direction of the lake. "I guess we better get over there before Pete gets twitchier. And why the funny face, Brian?"

"Robert Pattinson? Really?"
