Alaska retreat: getting away from the crazy

"I don't think we should alert them just yet. It would be wise to investigate first but the fact they are out here already has me a bit nervous." Jessie responded to her mother as she looked back at Amora.

"Will you be joining us or do you have other things to attend to?"

"Amora, I know Sentinels are not on the radar of most Asgardians, but your assistance would be welcome," Maddie said as The Enchantress moved to the window as well and watched the trucks rolling by. "If nothing else, they would not be able to detect you, and you could engage any guards in a bit of banter while we investigate."

The Enchantress looked at Jessie and Maddie and made a face that seemed to register extreme displeasure. "As a goddess, these things would be of no concern to me, but others I know would be interested in hearing about what is going on. If they hunt for the mutants today, will they not try to imprison the wizards tomorrow and kill the gods the next? Aye, I will go with thee."

"And with that you slip back into your familiar speech patterns," Maddie said as she rolled her eyes. "Jessie, is there anyone else you would like to call on to help out with this? Ewan or one of his family, perhaps?"

"Actually mother it might be a good time to bring Ewan here." She said as her eyes clouded over she opened up a fiery portal to where her lover Ewan was {"My love you are needed."} She spoke to him telepathically through their link to one another.

"He will be here in a moment." She said simply as the portal remained open she stood back for a moment as her clothes burned away morphing into the black colored phoenix uniform she wore. Even with the cold the eternal heat within her kept her warm. This arising situation had put her on guard. It might have been nothing but until she was sure she chose caution.

Ewan had not been with the family when he got the call from Jessie. He had taken it upon himself to go to London to have a chat with Pete Wisdom after the MI-13 head had, yet again, broken Dana's heart by walking away from her.  He never got to see Pete, and it was likely for the better. Ewan might have ripped the hot knife-tossing mutant's head from his shoulders.

"Yes, beloved," Ewan said as he stepped through the portal and swept Jessie into a kiss. Then he saw Maddie and Amora there and knew the seriousness of this summons. He saw in Jessie's mind what had transpired with the truck convoy of Sentinel parts and grew visibly upset at the thought of maniacs making more of those mechanical menaces. "I'm glad you called me. My business is certainly less important than a renewed effort regarding Sentinels."

"And I thought vampires did not care about such things," Amora said as Ewan turned and glared at the Asgardian. "Well, they do not hunt your kind."

"But they do hunt lovers, family and friends, Enchantress," Ewan replied before he looked over at Jessie again. "I will not let anyone be hunted. I've lived that nightmare for centuries. Never again."

"Then we should be on our way," Maddie said as she looked at Ewan. "We will need to follow the trucks. I have no idea where they are headed."

"A cloaking spell is in order," Amora said as she started to chant as Ewan grabbed Jessie's hand.

"Jessie, I'm sorry this landed on your mother's doorstep," Ewan said softly as he waited for Amora's spell to kick in. {{And what is Amora doing here? Is she a friend of your mother's? This seems a bit out of the way to just drop in}} he added telepathically as he continued to grasp Jessie's hand.

Jessie embraced her love and returned the kiss. With Ewan with her it seemed like time stood still when she was with him. "It's good to see you again love." She said leaning back but held on to his hand.

"Amora, Ewan is part of my life and regardless of what some might think love knows no bounds." She responded as she listened to Ewan respond as well. It was then Jessie's mother spoke up and the young Phoenix nodded in response.

"Yes we should get going as soon as possible." She said as her lover then spoke to her through their link. {"Love it's something to do with wanting to start a team....An all women team to look out for mystic and mutant alike......I have my doubts especially with Amora involved but we shall see."}

{{Asgardians are always a tad unpredictable, but Amora is more so than others--except Loki}} Ewan replied to Jessie as the Enchantress' spell finally started to work, and the group, now concealed by a cloaking spell, was flying above the trucks and following them to their base.
