Bryce looked at her mother and Erin both as her eyes still sparkled with a electric blue tint to them. "I am ok mother."She said as she looked at the weapon as it placed itself near the wall. She could feel the connection she now had to it through their brief encounter with each other. "I saw it's entire history for that brief moment we were connected. I saw everything." She said as she felt the pull of the weapon. It wanted to be with her, to be wielded by her. Alexia watched how Bryce's body language responded and she knew what was going on but before she had a chance to block her way Bryce couldn't hold it back anymore and in a burst of speed she went for the weapon as it reacted itself and rose of the ground heading straight for her hand. As she grasped it she let out a pleasurable moan as the transformation started again however this time it was much quicker. The glow became brighter and spread itself over Bryce's body. The blue hue gave way to gold as it dimmed what was left was someone that everyone could tell was Bryce but she looked very different. Her hair had changed to a short blonde which looked almost like shimmering gold. Her figure had also changed. She looked bustier and more toned as a Gold colored armor covered her goddess like body. Her eye color had also changed as it took on a orange hue. The mystical weapon had it's new bearer and the feeling was mutual as Bryce had a smile on her face as she reveled in the new power she had. "Bryce..........Are you ok?"Alexia said as she cautiously walked toward Bryce. Bryce just smiled and in a blur she had her arms around Alexia giving her a hug Alexia noticed instantly Bryce had a lot more strength. "I am perfectly fine sister do not worry."She said as she looked at everyone who had different looks on their faces. She could see the extreme worry in her mothers face. "Mother please do not worry......Search my mind. I am fine."

Kari had more or less dimmed her links to everyone but Logan at this point, but Bryce's transformation cut through her mind like lightning. She knew on some instinctual level that Bryce was fine, but she also knew that handling any sort of Asgardian weapon was like trying to grasp the wind. It was a rush like few others, but it often came with a high price.
"I know you are," Kari said quietly as she went to hug Bryce. She could see Bryan out of the corner of her eye, and she knew that he was as stunned as everyone else was by Bryce's transformation. "And the weapon will likely be happier now that it has a wielder, and that is no small thing. My Asgardian is rusty. Does it have a name?"
"Yes, the Asgardians love to name their weapons as much as the Celts do," Mal said with a chuckle as he looked at Bryce. "And at times none of the names make a lick of sense."
"Mal," Kari said as she shook her head, "as if your dragon names make all that much sense at times. But back to you, Bryce. Tell us more about your axe. I'm sure it has quite a story to tell."

Bryce smiled as her mother asked her to share more about the weapon. She held it proudly at her side and began to speak. "Well actually Mal it doesn't have an Asgardian name it has a Celtic name. It's original bearer named it Macha after the Celt goddess of war." She said as she felt the power through her body. It was taking some getting used to. "Actually mother that's why it chose me. It has had more female wielders then male. I can feel it felt our bloodline and how strong it is. With the exception of it's creation it's spent most of it's time in the company of The Celts and that's what it was intended for.....And it would appear in a sense it's purpose has been passed on to another generation." Bryce said as she firmly held the Axe at her side not feeling tired. Quite the contrary.

Kari looked at Bryce and the axe named Macha and tried not to think fifteen steps ahead as other family members moved between the downstairs rooms of Raven's Rock. "I'm glad Loki didn't set his sights on that axe, or we all might be in for a world of trouble. I could see him giving it to that doppelganger of mine. All we would need is Cailleach wielding that weapon."
"Mum, I doubt the axe would have let either of them carry it," Thom said with a bright smile on his face. "And the only reason it let me carry it was to get it to Bryce."
"Did anyone see you leave with it? Specifically any of the Avengers?" Kari asked Thom as she looked back at Logan. "No offense, darling, but I don't exactly trust everyone on that team to be on the up and up when all is said and done. It is not a huge secret that Stark is still not thrilled with the Witchbreed."
"The only person who acknowledged me as I left was Oksana Petrova," Thom replied as Kari nodded back. "Is that a problem?"
"No, Oksana and I have been working on something on the side, so I'm sure she would keep a confidence if necessary," Kari added as she looked back toward Bryce. "I was more concerned about Stark getting upset after that mess with Carnwennan."
"Auntie Adaryn was giving him an earful after he said something to Jack and Niamh, and then Clint Barton was hitting on Auntie Adaryn, or at least I think he was," Thom said as Kari threw up her hands and looked particularly vexed by that situation.
"Ryn does not need to deal with all that right now," Kari said as she looked back at Bryce and then to Alexia. "So, did Macha exist in your world as well, Alexia?"

"Ryn will put that pompous twit in his place. Well, both pompous twits," Mal said as he saw Orion walk into the room. "Oh, where were you hiding? In the stables, I bet! Sit and have something more potent than coffee. It might make Rory's cooking palatable."
"I heard that!" Rory said as he yelled from the kitchen before there was a loud crash. "And I am fine. That was just a bunch of pans clattering about like they had lives of their own! And apparently I knocked over the family phone message center. Who is Jeremiah Purdy? He left 15 messages for Branan."
"Oh no. Not that one again," Mal said as he rolled his eyes. "He's a stuffy professorial type. Immortal. Knew Branan back in the days when he was knocking around with Benjamin Franklin. Don't get me started on Jeremiah Purdy, Esquire. He was going on about some demons in Sleepy Hollow when I saw him last. He gets a bit crazed."
Mal looked at Logan and gave him a wicked grin. "See the fun you miss staying in San Francisco? Then again, I'm sure this is nothing new to you. You do have to deal with Gambit and his cooking skills--or lack thereof."

" Tha Cajun, uses more seasoning and spice than actual food to even eat, don't even want ta get started on the Gumbo." Logan laughed " Give me a nice steak and a beer, and a good woman like Red to share it with, a man ain't got no complaints after that." Logan sucked on a cigar as everyone raised their mugs and downed more liquor to a myriad of laughter and cheers.
Orion shook his head. " I can only imagine how dinner gatherings go at the X-men table, the gold i'd pay just to see someone like Bobby throw an ice meatball and hit Emma in the face, the Gods may even sheds tears from laughter." Everyone started laughing again. It was nice to hear the sounds of happiness and hope after the long days they've all been through, and the ones that may continue ahead. Logan smirked. " I think we'd all pay to see that one."
Logan kicked back in his chair and looked over at Red. " See Red, this is why I like yer family, they're tha only ones crazy and dumb enuff ta try and out drink me." Logan then looked over at Mal. " Except you Mal, last time you tried to indulge ta out drink everyone, you ended up out at tha stables trying to make out with a horse, hahaha." Orion spit out part of his ale. " I've never seen a horse blush before until that day." At this point, more drinks we're being spilled, people were falling out of chairs. Logan patted Mal on the back. " No worries bub, dont think too many ladies heard about that night." To see the display going on, it had to make Kari smile to see how well Logan got along with the family.

"Yes Macha did exist in my world and honestly I am not surprised it's being wielded by someone from our line." She said looking over at Bryce and smiling again. "Actually mom you wielded it in my world for quite some time and the worry about Loki giving it to Cailleach well lets just say it would be a very short meeting. With our family it's something in our dna that makes us perfect avatars for a weapon like Macha." She then looked over at Bryce. "Ya know we are going to have a sparring match at some point and I can show you a few things....." She said with a laugh and a wink as Bryce laughed as well. "Bring it sis!" Bryce said with a wink.

By now Dana had sort of gotten herself out of everyone's line of sight, and she was glad of it. The whole thing with Bryce and her new axe made her think back to her own disappointment when the Goddess, on more than one occasion, had not chosen her to wield the weapon of the moment.
Kari, Maeve, Hayley and Adaryn were much better suited to those things anyway, and Dana knew it. She was never the one to be the mystical powerhouse. And right now, she didn't feel like much of anything anyway.
She listened to the banter in the area where Logan, Mal and Orion were holding court, and she realized what had been missing in her own life. She loved Pete. She really did. But he was never going to fit into this mess of a family quite like Logan did. The call from MI 13 cemented that for her, so she kissed Pete and her engagement goodbye as he got on that jump jet to head back to London. They had both said it would be a breather until he got things settled, but in her heart she knew that was likely something said to make them both feel better at that moment in time.
As she started to get up from her hiding place around the side of the staircase, Dana heard the crash in the kitchen. Since Rory's wife died, he tried to put up a good front and be everything to everyone. {{Maybe today Rory needs me to be there for him}} Dana thought as she looked back at Kari, Logan and the others. "I'm going to make sure Rory and Donal don't blow a hole in the kitchen wall. Mum would have our heads if they did!"
Dana then looked back at Kari from the kitchen doorway and tapped her in their link. {{I'll tell you everything later. I promise. Just...be thankful that your pieces all fit}}
"Rory! Donal! What are you trying to do? We do not want to call the fire brigade in from town, now do we?"

Mal turned beet red but could not stop laughing as he remembered back to that night and the poor horse he had mistaken for a young woman. "You do realize I was goaded into that little incident by good brother Cormac. He had the brilliant idea that we could see how you'd fit in if one of us tried to out-drink you," Mal said to Logan as he shook his head. "Mac always has the brightest ideas, and they always get one of his siblings into some odd situation or other."
"Cormac has a good heart," Caed said as he finally sat down at the table. "But he also has great grandfather's wicked sense of humor. No one could escape from his misadventures either."
"To be very honest, Logan, there are very few of the X-Men who would fit into this silly lot of ours," Mal said as Dana came running back out and sat next to Orion. "Rory sent you packing already, Dana?"
"Yes, he is perfectly capable of handling things!" she said as she put her head on her brother Orion's shoulder. "Be happy you missed that dreadful party. How did you get out of it anyway?"
Mal chuckled as he turned back to Logan. "I know Stalik and Kitty visited here with you a few times, and I think Kurt has as well. You all seem very happy inside these walls, and I am glad for it. If not for you four, I am not sure how Kari would have gotten this far in your world. She told me about that trip you made to Salem, Massachusetts when she got her memory back. I know Ororo Munroe went along as well as you and Kurt. Sister has always said that trip was the start of a new life as well as getting her old one back. So, thank you," he added as he clinked his glass against Logan's. "And thank you for not broadcasting that horse business to the universe. We are still trying to live down Rhiannon Dalcais' dance on the top of Parliament in London with one of my dragons. The horse kissing would surely make the front of The Sun if anyone ever found out."

It had been too damned long since this much of the family had set foot inside the walls of Raven's Rock, and although the circumstances for some of this were not as pleasant as others, Kari welcomed the fact that she was indeed home. Then again, anywhere Logan hung his hat was home now. It had really been that way for the last 10 years or so, but of late it felt more right than ever.
As she walked back towards the table where everyone was sitting, Kari couldn't help but think back to that trip to Salem. It was done on a whim one or two days before Samhain, and the group was lucky to get two rooms at the Hawthorne Hotel before the last huge throng of party goers arrived in Witch Capital of America to celebrate Halloween.
"I still remember when you ordered dinner at that little restaurant near the waterfront in Salem, and the waiter kept eyeing us like we were some sort of rock stars. That was just so weird," Kari said as she finally sat down next to Logan, "well, weird until he finally said you and Kurt had rescued him from some ruckus on the New York subway."
"Is it true that Kari took you three out dancing that night, and by dancing I mean to a place where the local coven was holding rites," Mal asked with a gleam in his eye. "I'm sure you were all glad Emma and Scott weren't there to see you in the all together."
"Mal," Kari growled as her brother laughed. "I was still a mess that night, being pulled in a million different directions. But my friends did as they wished. I certainly was not going to force anyone to join the circle, but I was not going to keep them away either."
Kari remembered that night fondly as she squeezed Logan's hand. He understood, likely more than anyone else besides her family, why that night the Goddess needed to rise and be free, and if she hadn't loved Logan already by that point, that simple gesture he made would have sealed it for her.
"Thank you," she said as she reached over and kissed Logan to a few cat calls and cheers from her family. "It is moments like these that make the rest of what is our lives tolerable."

Ceri and Shannon stayed close together as more of the family had gathered by the moment as they sat and talked. She was happy beyond words to see her mother in such a happy state.
She looked back at Shannon with a smile as the two walked to the table and sat down. "Love I'm more than honored to welcome you into our family home and indeed our family." She said kissing Shannon again before sitting down taking off her beret and passing Shannon a mug.
"It seems like this is a time of happy beginnings?"Erin was quick to chime in seeing the two women along with both her aunt Kari and Logan in such high spirits.
"Indeed it is Erin indeed it is."

The portal opened once again and two figures walked through and everyone present knew who it was. "Ah I see my family is already into the stories, food & drink!" Sean said with a laugh and a smile as he leaned over and kissed Miri who was at his side.
"Sean!" Erin said with a happy response running over and giving him a strong hug."What took you so long?!"
"Easy lass remember yer a lot stronger then ye realize sometimes!" Sean said returning the embrace "We had to get some other personal matters solved but ye knew we would make it in at some point."
Erin smiled and nodded before she turned to those her family that were assembled. Some knew of the engagement and upcoming marriage of the two but Erin decided to let everyone know again. "Sean and Miranda are getting married. We found out at the party."

It had been ages since Miri had been to Raven's Rock. She usually came here with her mother when she was younger, but she hadn't been here since her mother died. "It's good to be back here," she said softly as assorted members of Sean's family congratulated them on their upcoming wedding. "Thank you all," she said as she grabbed Sean's hand more tightly. This was the reaction she only could have dreamed about with her own family. The only person who would have cheered their union from her side was Bella, and her sister was now with her mother in the afterlife.
Miri glanced at Dana for a moment and noticed her look away when the engagement was brought up. "Dana?" she asked as the brunette turned toward her and smiled. "I hope I didn't say something..."
"No, not at all," Dana said as she looked over and smiled at her cousin and his fiance. "Pete had to go back to London, and it just left me a bit down. Congratulations, you two."
"Thank you," Miri said with a big smile as she turned to see Rory and Donal bringing plates of food to the table. "I guess fighting a demon army did work up an appetite for many of us. I forgot I hadn't gotten much of a chance to eat at the party."
"Did you get Patience to someone who could help her?" Kari asked as Miri looked over at her.
"Sean helped me get her back to her family home. Her sister was there to meet us and look after Patience," Miri said as she leaned her head on Sean's arm. "I never could have done it if Sean hadn't been with me. The next time I see Morgan Le Fay or Elizabeth Priest, they are going to pay for what they did to Patience."
"Don't forget Ayame Harada," Rory said as he shook his head. "She wasn't exactly a pawn in this mess."
"Agreed," Miri replied as she sighed and looked up at Sean. "Thanks again for being able to help her."

"Did you all start the party without me?"
"Unca Kurt!" Annaliese and Brigid yelled as Nightcrawler walked into the hallway. "How did you get here?"
"Your Uncle Branan was kind enough to set up a portal for me," Kurt said as he made his way toward the table where everyone was sitting. "Congratulations!" he said to Miri and Sean as he walked by them. "May you have only happy days ahead of you!"
"Come and sit with us, Unca Kurt!" Brigid yelled as she and her twin ran toward the table. "You can sit next to Unca Mal, and we can go for a dragon ride later! And make cookies! And..."
"Slow down, little ones," Kurt said with a grin as he slid into a seat next to Mal. "We will have plenty of time to see your dragon. Right now I need to talk to your Uncle Logan and Aunt Kari," Nightcrawler added as he hugged each of the girls before they ran off. "Branan wanted me to let you know he and Galen are going with Gideon Ambrose to visit a few of Morgan Le Fay's old haunts in London. If any of us are needed, they will be in touch, but they hope it won't be necessary."
Kurt looked at the mugs and bottles on the table and grinned. "You didn't drink it all, did you, Logan?"

"OK, munchkins, I need to go make a call, but I'll be right back," Laurel said to Annaliese and Brigid as they ran off to the table with Nightcrawler. She ran into a closet near the kitchen and pulled out her cellphone. She had been talking to her cousin Liam on and off for days now to see how Emily was doing. Doctor Stuffy McStufferson, otherwise known as James Bradley, had wanted her to keep her cheery self far away from the Cybercide base. He was such a pain. But Liam had been nice and chatty about Emily and Kyle, and the Kyle part stunk like last week's takeout.
Today, though, Liam seemed like a grouchy bear. She was chatting away with him about Sasquatch not answering her phone messages when he suddenly ended the call and went in to see Emily.
"What? Wait!" she yelled in the phone before exiting her hiding place and going to a desk in the hallway. She pulled out a marker and some paper and made a hasty sign that read:
You're invited to my family thingydoo at Raven's Rock! Please come along with Cousin Lima! Uncle Logan is here, and you can meet Lima's mom!
She then dialed her cousin again and promptly squealed in the phone as he showed her smiling face and her nifty sign to Emily. Liam then hung up with all the grace and charm of a party pooper.
"He better invite her, or I'll have every plant in his room wake up at night and tickle him!" she said as she put the sign down and went to join the others.

Bryan looked at Bryce, Alexia and Thom and was a bit envious of the ease they had around each other despite not having lived under the same roof their entire lives. He had never experienced that in the home where he grew up, and it still ate at him that he had not been welcomed into this circle at the time of his birth. But he knew he would not get any answers today. Everyone was still a bit off after that ridiculous party in New York.
"If you two are going to be sparring, perhaps we should make it a foursome so Thomas and I can get in some exercise?" Bryan said to Alexia and Bryce before he looked over at Thom. "Any objections to that?"
"I have none," Thom replied as he glanced past Bryan toward the kitchen. "But maybe we should get a bite to eat first? Whatever substantial fare they had at that party ended up trampled under foot before most of us got to eat any of it."
"Yes, a good bit of it decorated the walls as well," Bryan added as he smiled at his siblings. "A supreme waste at a time when a good many poor in New York could have benefited from those foodstuffs."

"I think that would be a good idea indeed. I've been starving since that silly party!"Bryce said as she put the Axe on her side looking at Bryan. "I think it would be a great idea if you joined us....The more the merrier!" She said as Alexia laughed. "Well with the amount of mystic energy that will be spreading around there I'd be surprised if someone like my father or someone else showed up to see what was going on!" Alexia chimed in with a smile. "My question is who is going to clean up the wreckage when it's all done?" Erin spouted as both her and Sean laughed.

Kari turned back toward her children as they talked about the sparring they would be doing later. "That's why we have a grove at the other end of the property," she said with a smile as Logan chuckled under his breath. "I know. You're remembering the time we all went out there and nearly took off the top of that nearby hilltop when those trees got uprooted."
"Seriously? You have a fighting glade on the property?" Bryan asked as Kari nodded her head. "Uncle Quinn never mentioned that, and you trained him here, correct?"
"No, we didn't train here," Kari said as her face turned a bit dark. "We did a lot of our training on the Holy Isle back then with Enya Sun. She's actually supposed to be here soon with her children."
"Oh! Callan has to join us if we can get another sparring partner for him," Thom said with a big grin. "I doubt he wants to go up against his siblings. Annora and Brion drive him a tad insane at times."
"Sounds just like our type of family," Bryan said with a grin as he seemed to be warming up to everyone in the room. "Erin, will you be joining us?"
"I'm so glad that everyone seems to be fitting in here so well," Kari said to Logan as she finished the last of her drink and looked toward the kitchen. "Alexia, do you want us to try and contact Thor, or do you think the energy expended in the sparring will be enough?"

"Well lass I've seen what ye can do on the battlefield so honestly I dunno what you could do that surprise us." "Before you know it, we'll all jump in!" Maeve said as she looked overt at Sean and Miri. "Erin, don't let him tease you too much. And yes, I know you mean well, Sean. You'd think the lot of us would have had enough after that nonsense in New York."
"I think we do this to make up for the times when we can't all get together," Thom said with a chuckle. "Like playing flag football on Thanksgiving after dinner. That thing Bobby makes everyone do for X-Men Thanksgiving."
"Ah yes, Bobby loves his football," Kurt said as he drank some of the beer that had been set out on the table. "And before you little ones think you're going to join the sparring match," he started to say before Annaliese and Brigid started to cross their arms and look very cross at him. "What is it?"
"We still wanna ride the dragon with Unca Mal!" Brigid said as she looked at her uncle.
"And we can ride over the sparring match if you two will stay in your seats," Mal said with a wink as he looked at Maeve. "Then we'll land and watch from the hilltop."
"Yay!" Annaliese shouted as she and her twin started to run around the room. "We get to see the sparring. Whatever that is."
Maeve burst out laughing as she looked at Erin and smiled. "Wait until those two are old enough to join in. And Alexia, I can send out a burst to Asgard. If Thor is in earshot, he'll hear it."

"And the Clan Sun has arrived!" Callan yelled as he, his mother Enya and half-siblings Annora and Brion walked through the door and into the area where everyone was gathered. "And Devnet will be in shortly. She got some apples for the horses before we left Avalon."
Brion and Annora stood behind their mother and sort of looked around in bewilderment. Both were now in their late teens and still carried their mother's dark hair and sun-kissed skin coloring despite the Atlantean blood on their father's side. Annora, who bore a stronger resemblance to their mother than either of her siblings, poked Brion in the ribs to try to get him to talk. "Brion's being odd again, Callan."
"I am not! And I don't even know you," Bryan O'Cathain replied as Annora suddenly clasped her hand over her mouth and turned bright red.
"I am so sorry. I meant my brother," she said as she motioned to her sibling. "Maybe we better call you by your nickname," she added as she looked toward her mother and then both brothers. "Lir it is."
"No, Poseidon! I hate Lir. It sounds stupid, and they have that terrible story about his kids being turned into swans," Brion protested.
"We can use your middle name," Enya said as she grimaced at her youngest child. "Morgan. My brave sea-farer."
"I hate that as much as Lir!" Brion shouted as he walked over and slumped in a chair. "It's Poseidon or nothing!"
"Did I hear someone mention sparring when we walked in? Maybe the cranky god of the sea here can calm down if we go out and work off his frustration," Callan said as he stopped and looked at the two tall blonde women near Thom. "Wait. Do I know you two?" he asked Alexia and Bryce. Thanks to the enchanted weapon she now wielded, Bryce did not register as someone Callan knew, although he had been to many family gatherings that she had attended.

Daniel O'Carroll had slipped in behind the rather gregarious Sun clan and saw Ceri and Shannon sitting having coffee. "There you two are!" he said with a big grin. "I got sidetracked getting back here. A couple of people in New York kept mistaking me for Hawkeye and that actor Chris Pine. Then I got jumped by one of those fake Times Square Elmos. That bozo needed a bath!"
"You didn't miss much at that party," Shannon said as she saw an empty cup and handed it to Daniel. "It was a mess."
"I saw it on the Jumbotron in Times Square. People started taking bets on how long it would be until the Helicarrier crashed in Central Park once they saw the dragons. Mal, seriously? Three dragons?"
"The demon horde had that many, so it seemed an even match," Mal replied as Daniel grabbed a chair and sat across from Ceri and Shannon. "We could have had more, but my friend Tamsin was delayed on Avalon."
"Oh, Tamsin the dragon breeder? Yeah, I met her once. She doesn't exactly make friends easily, does she?" Daniel asked as Mal shot him an odd look. "She had one of her little charges set me on fire once."
"Because you kept hitting on her and would not quit, I bet," Dana added as Daniel rolled his eyes. "You do have a tendency to push it, cousin dearest."
"Moi?" Daniel said with a cheesy grin. "Anyway, ladies," he said to Ceri and Shannon, "what are your plans once the after party here ends?"

The chatter in the manor house suddenly quieted as Faith made her way inside with her father, Michael Priest. "Mum, I couldn't not bring Daddy," Faith said quietly as Kari got up and walked over to her. "He needs to see Finn."
"I know, and I understand," Kari said as she hugged Faith and then looked at Michael. "My mother and sister are tending to Finn's healing. We can go up in a few minutes. How is Reid?"
"Reid is recovering. He was poisoned by one of those demons Le Fay brought to the party. My sister had no idea that bitch was pulling the strings," Priest said as Kari nodded to him. "Reid and MJ will be headed to one of my properties in Tahiti or Fiji when he's fully back on his feet. That girl saved his life, and my family owes her for her heroic efforts."
"None of us question MJ's abilities or heroism," Kari replied as she walked over and got a cup of tea for Priest. "You might as well sit down. It may be a bit longer until we can see Finn. And if you want to join in the hunting party looking for Le Fay, let me know."
"Daddy, please, stay with us for a bit," Faith said as she looked around the room. "I know this is weird for everyone, but Finn needs all of us pulling for him so he can make a full recover."

Bryce and Alexia stopped talking for a moment as Callan walked up to them. "Yes we were planning on having a little fun after the meal. You are more then welcome to join us......Anyone is." Alexia said as Bryce then answered his other question. "My name is Bryce and this is Alexia. We're both daughters of Kari. Alexia's father is Thor.....Guess you might see the family likeness?" Bryce said with a laugh and Alexia gently elbowed her in the side.

OOC: Annora is PB Alexandria Dadarrio and Brion is PB Logan Lerman.
IC:
Callan turned from Alexia and Bryce to Thom and gave him a stern look. "You could have told me this was Bryce!" he said to his best friend as both men started to laugh. "See? I go away for weeks on end, and you undergo a transformation!" he said as he gave Bryce a hug. "And Alexia, it is a pleasure to meet you," he said as he shifted and hugged her as well. "It is wonderful that more of the clan is coming together."
It was now Thom's turn to give Callan a stern look. It was no secret to the extended family that what was often referred to as "Kari's Curse" or "Kari's Burden" would likely come to pass in this generation, and Thom was not keen on seeing his family march to war in the name of the Goddess or her avatar.
"You know I don't subscribe to that whole story about your mother any more than I do to the prophecy that has dogged mine for centuries," Callan said as he punched Thom in the arm and shook his head. "We make our own fate, and so do our parents. Now, to get us back to better topics of conversation," he added as he looked at Annora and Brion and motioned for them to come closer. "Alexia and Bryce, these are my siblings, Annora and Brion. The have been going to classes at that drafty old castle in Edinburgh, but I think Mum is shifting some of their studies to wherever the X-Men are living at the moment. I take it you are debating what team to go with, Alexia? I am sure Thor would welcome his daughter into Earth's Mightiest Heroes."
