OK, Star-Lord was one of the characters Stephanie had planned to app, and I was going to take Gamora.
With Steph gone, I'm going to take on Mr. Quill and his movie counterpart Chris Pratt. I am dropping my Gamora reservation.
If Stephanie comes back, she and I can discuss Mr. Quill's ultimate fate.

Powers and Abilities
Given the powers of the Star-Lord, Peter's suit grants him many powers and abilities. The suit allows him sustained flight and survival in space. He can heal and has energy shields.
When teamed with Ship, Peter has her complete knowledge and firepower at his disposal, as well as two "widgets" that can accompany him where ship cannot that can be used in a variety of ways.
Starlord is also equipped with advanced, voice activated weaponry, his signature "Element Guns", and is an excellent marksman. He is also skilled at hand to hand combat and sword fighting.
Starlord once had implants, and could remember anything with his memchip, which has 100% recall, and see beyond regular ability. During Annihilation: Conquest, he lost his implants because of the Phalanx transmode virus and began to use a new uniform and helmet that allows him to breath in space and communicate. His signature element guns were changed to a pair of machine guns. He would later use more advanced weaponry.
With his return from the Cancerverse and Marvel Now! reboot, he once again has his Star-Lord power suit and element gun.

Once there was a man called Prince Jason of Spartoi, and he was wrongly accused of being a traitor by his father. This action caused Jason to run away. When war broke out Jason was asked to come back home. But on the way home Jason's ship converter blew out. He then had to make a crash landing in the Earth's Colorado Mountains. A woman named Meredith Quill helped him out of the ship. She would get him back on his feet and help rebuild his ship. He fell in love with her and conceived a child. In order to return to the war he had to leave Meredith behind so she wouldn't get hurt. Jason locked her memories so that she would be spared the pain he felt.
Meredith married her high school sweetheart Jake, but when she had the child Jake didn't believe it was his. She named the child Peter Jason. Jake told her the child looked nothing like him or her. Jake then tried to kill the child but on the way outside he died from a heart attack. Meredith would then spend most of her time doing nothing but raising her son. When Peter was little he often loved to watch many NASA and space shows.
When the war against Spartoi and Ariguan had been in Spartoi's favor, Jason asked his uncle Gareth to bring his family to him. But, instead Gareth put a hit on the Quill family. When Peter was eleven he saw men come in and kill his mother. The men left not knowing Peter was there. Peter swore that he would kill those men. Gareth had told Jason that his family had died during birth. Peter with much hope ran away from his orphanage to go to a greater destiny.

Major Story Arcs
Becoming Star-Lord
After Peter had left the orphanage, he started to study and even ended up graduating college. He was then accepted into the NASA space astronaut training program. Peter still had a lack of social skills. Once, after saving a fellow student from an accident he yelled at the kid for being stupid and not saving himself. Soon enough Peter was being sent to a new space station and Peter was finally in space. He loved being in space but, while he was up there he remembered about his goal to take revenge on the men who killed his mom. When there was a project called Star-Lord, Peter volunteered. Earth was trying to stop Peter from doing it saying he didn't have enough experience. Refusing not to go he stole a ship and headed back to Eve which was the space station. Shooting his way into the spot where he needed to be. When he got there he saw another man trying to be in the Star-Lord program. He then threw the man out of the way and Peter was transported away.
Later, he met up with the Master of the Sun who then turned Peter into Star Lord. He then let Peter go to take revenge. Peter then was seen destroying the same ship that landed where he lived. His master then told him to start a new life and gave him a sentient former star named Ship which would help guide him. Later Ship took Peter to his dads future time. There Peter saw Ariguan slavers who would destroy whole planets and take people as slaves. Peter then helped a revolt team with revolt leaders Kip and Sandy. Together, they tracked the leader of the slavers Kyras Shakati, who was killed when he nearly treacherously killed Starlord.
Peter then raced to his fathers home planet Sparta, after learning of the plot to overthrow the Emperor. It was here that he was met by the coup leader, Gareth, uncle of Jason of Sparta and the Ariguan Rruothk'ar. Peter quickly remembered that Rruothk'ar was the man who killed his mother and charged in anger, killing the reptilian. Peter then crossed swords with Gareth. Gareth took off Peters mask and saw he looked a lot like Jason. But, then Peter killed him and that's when Jason found him. Jason told Peter that he was his father. Jason was so happy Peter was there and asked him to become the empires heir but, Peter refused him.
Going outer Space
Much later, a Ariguan assault force started to attack the Master of the Sun, Star-Lord came to help him. But, he found out that his master was Ariguan himself and that by creating Star-Lord he betrayed his people and must face punishment. Peter accepted what the Master of the Sun had to do. Peter returned to his fathers home planet to be at Jason's 100th coronation jubilee. He regretted that he never got to know his father. Now, his father left to explore the universe. One day Peter was separated from Ship when she was caught in a black hole. Due to injuries it is said Star-lord had to have cybernetic implants.
Imprisoned at the Kyln
After that Star-Lord was confronted by the Fallen One who was the first herald of Galactus. Star-Lord did happen to subdue his much stronger opponent. But, a lot of lives where taken to provide the energy needed to stop the Fallen One. He was in guilt and gave up his Star-Lord identity. The collateral damage was 350,000 dead which ended up getting Starlord life imprisonment in the Kyln, a super prison on the edge of the universe.
In the Kyln, Starlord allied with Gladiator, who was there to watch over Kosmos, the mortal form of the Beyonder. With the help of Thanos, she was defeated but another great threat broke free of his imprisonment - the Fallen One. Gladiator conscripted Starlord into the Imperial Guard to help them with the Fallen One and Thanos.
Annihilation
After he left the Imperial Guard, he became Nova 's main aide during the Annihilation Wave as part of the United Front. He became a valuable asset against the forces of Annihilus although he refused to speak about his past to anybody. He accompanied Nova and Phyla on the mission to kill Annihilus in which they succeeded after Phyla took the Quantum Bands and Nova ripped out Annihilus' insides.
Annihilation Conquest
After the Annihilation War, Peter Quill was hired by Ronan the Accuser to upgrade the Kree War Net. During the war, the War Net had been broken up into pieces and Quill was to unify it and make it stronger. They were offered an upgrade by the Galadorian Spaceknight Restitution Program and Quill brokered the deal. The envoy arrived on the Kree capital planet of Hala led by Daystar. After they integrated the two systems, during a test drill Kree Sentries shot down one of their own ships. Quill realized something was wrong and ordered the War Net to be shut down, but it was too late. The Phalanx transmode virus had already taken control of the entire empire.
During the events of Conquest, Quill was faced with a choice of imprisonment by the Kree for what he had brought on them or to form a team to carry out low-tech missions for them. Quill chose the latter and was forced to dawn his alias of Starlord once again. He created the team known as the Dirty Half-Dozen and fought against the Phalanx.
Guardians Of The Galaxy
After Ultron and the Phalanx are defeated, Starlord forms the new Guardians of the Galaxy. The universe was in a very fragile state after the two Annihilation events and fissures in reality were beginning to form and spread. In order to prevent the collapse of the universe he had Mantis telepathically nudge Adam Warlock, Phyla-Vell, Rocket Raccoon, Drax and Gamora into joining his team. This motley crew set up base in the severed head of a Celestial called Knowhere. When Starlord's deception was found out everyone but Mantis quit the team in disgust and sat off on their own quests.
Starlord responded to a Kree summons and returned to the Kree homeworld to speak with Ronan. Upon arrival he is shocked to see that they are rebuilding the Phalanx Spire to protect Kree space, he argued with Ronan and then he was thrown into the Negative Zone. He was then forced into helping the newly appointed ruler of the Negative Zone, King Blastaar, into taking over the Superprison 42 so he could gain access to their portal to Earth. Starlord was sent into 42 to convince them to open the door and surrender. Once inside he spoke with the unofficial leaders of 42 and told them not to surrender, but only Jack Flag agreed with him. They tried to stop them but the doors were opened and Blastaar's army was unleashed; after learning of his betrayal Blastaar sent his men to find and kill Starlord. Running for their lives Starlord and Jack Flag located a telepath in 42 to ask the Guardians for help and they were able to escape before being killed by Blastaar.
War of Kings
Once he returned to Knowhere, he found that Rocket had assembled a new team, consisting of Major Victory, Bug, Groot and Mantis. Eventually, the other members returned as well, Adam and Gamora returning in order to still help the universe, and Drax and Phyla returning with the newly resurrected Moondragon.
Their first order was to split up and attempt to end the War of Kings, which would cause irreparable damage to the fabric of the universe. Peter led his team to Hala to speak with the Inhumans. Even after telling them the dangers of their war, they refused. Phyla, who now called herself Martyr, had other ideas of negotiating and took Crystal hostage. Starlord could not get her to release her prisoner and they were teleported back to Knowhere. Upon their return, they soon found themselves in the middle of a battle with the Inhumans and the Imperial Guard, who had followed the other team back. After rescuing Crystal, the Inhumans left and the Guardians were left to face the Imperial Guard, who wished to take over the station. In the process of the battle, Starhawk escaped her captivity and took Starlord, Mantis, Bug, Jack Flag and Cosmo to her future.
In Starhawk's bleak future, she was finally able to convince them what she had been saying all along was true. A massive fissure was consuming the universe, and it had to be stopped. The two Guardians teams worked together to try to send a message back through time to warn that the fissure, known as the Fault, was actually caused during the War of Kings by Black Bolt. With their time machine broken, they formed a new plan. The Badoon, who know ruled what little was left of the universe, had enslaved the Celestials and created what was called the Celestial Engine, used to keep the fissure at bay. They send back their message and break the alignment of the Celestial Engine, causing the destruction of this future.
To Starlord's surprise, this did not kill them. They found themselves in a different time with a different set of Guardians. Another surprise: he was old enough to be his own grandfather. The Starhawk of this future received messages from his previous selves and learned the truth. The team was adrift in time, which was causing their changes as well. They formed a plan to find a time machine under Avengers Mansion, but once they got their they slipped through time once again. And again. And again. They finally arrived at an alternate future, one ruled by the Magus and the Universal Church of Truth. While battling the members of the Church, they had an unexpected guest: Kang the Conqueror. He returned them to their normal states and took them to his headquarters in limbo. He explained that all futures were becoming Magus futures and it was up to Starlord to stop this from happening.
The Cost of Victory
Kang gave Peter a Cosmic Cube and told him that future must be saved at all costs. They were sent back to moments before Adam would turn into the Magus while repairing the Fault. Starlord tried to talk to Adam, but the damage had been done. He had overlapped the time lines and essentially he had been the Magus for months. Adam transformed and began his battle with the Guardians, who were all reunited. After killing Major Victory, Mantis, Cosmo, Gamora and Phyla, Starlord was finally able to grab the Cube and use it to revert the Magus back to Adam. Adam told him that he must finish him, and to his own regret, Starlord shot and killed his friend. The universe had been saved, but the price was very high. It was later revealed to Star-Lord that Magus faked his death along with the deaths of Peter's teammates and when Starlord had finally met up with them he found that they had none other than Thanos with them. It is explained that Thanos' body was placed in a cocoon by Adam Warlock. Phyla was tricked into hatching the egg by Maelstrom. Starlord than used what was left of his cosmic cube to knock the mindless Thanos out for the time being.
Thanos Imperative
BANG!
The Thanos Imperative After the Magus detonates several planets to open the Fault further, Peter comes up with a plan to use Thanos to defeat Magus and the inhabitants of the Cancerverse that are invading their Universe. Peter figures that since Thanos is the Avatar of Death that he can be used to bring death back into the Cancerverse.
Starlord and his Guardians then travel to the Cancerverse, but Thanos grows weak and ill because of the lack of Death in the universe, although he grew more powerful by the moment. They arrive to discover that the Defenders of the Realm cannot be killed by them. Thanos then attacks the Defenders and discovers that he can kill them because he is the Avatar of Death. Vision then arrives and brings the Guardians to Titan. He explains that the Captain Marvel of the Cancerverse survived the cancer by performing a ritual by sacrificing the Avatar of Death which turned all the heroes to energy and absorbed it. This killed Death in their Universe. Starlord believes that this is what Lord Mar-vell is trying to accomplish in their universe. Unable to contain his hatred for Thanos, Drax attacks Thanos and attaches a bomb onto him which explodes and reduces Thanos to a skeleton. But surprisingly Thanos regenerates completely which leads to the discovery that Death has once again cursed Thanos with life and can no longer die. Thanos than unleashes a powerful blast at Drax, killing him.
Starlord's Final Stand
Lord Mar-Vell then sends his Revengers to kill Thanos and the Guardians. The Scarlet Witch of the Cancerverse sees her love Vision wounded and near death on the ground and opens a powerful explosion which knocks out all of the Revengers. Wanda reveals that she has been part of the resistance the whole time. She teleports Peter and Thanos to the site of the Necropsy Ritual. Before they can advance, Lord Mar-vell shows up with his Revengers and Thanos and Mar-vell go head on. Thanos easily handles Mar-vell but than releases him, pleading for his own death and betraying the Starlord and the heroes.
Mar-Vell begins his ritual sacrifice, but this time Death will not be cheated again. She destroys Mar-Vell in a massive blast that begins to destroy the entire Cancerverse. When Starlord notices that Death is ignoring Thanos, he knows this is going to be bad. While the others transport back to their universe, Starlord and Nova stay behind in order to stall Thanos long enough for the universe to collapse on them. This way Thanos cannot escape and threaten their universe. Taking his Cosmic Cube, he and Nova keep Thanos there long enough for the collapse, seemingly sacrificing themselves for the greater good of the universe. A service was held on Hala for the fallen, a statue of Starlord and Nova in memoriam created with the inscription "Guardians of the Galaxy".
Marvel NOW!
Although yet to be explained, Starlord escaped the Cancerverse implosion (along with Thanos, but not Richard Rider) during the Marvel NOW! reboot, changing his origin along with his appearance to be blonde. Similar to his original origin, his mother was killed by the Badoon (not the Ariguans) because they wished to destroy Jason of Spartax's lineage.
Peter survived by finding his father's element gun, which many believe to be a simple toy, so he was able to keep it through the orphanages and foster homes he went through. This origin completely skips the Master of the Sun events, his new motivation for space travel to protect Earth from the Badoon.

The Badoon, who know ruled what little was left of the universe, had enslaved the Celestials and created what was called the Celestial Engine, used to keep the fissure at bay. They send back their message and break the alignment of the Celestial Engine, causing the destruction of this future.
To Starlord's surprise, this did not kill them. They found themselves in a different time with a different set of Guardians. Another surprise: he was old enough to be his own grandfather. The Starhawk of this future received messages from his previous selves and learned the truth. The team was adrift in time, which was causing their changes as well. They formed a plan to find a time machine under Avengers Mansion, but once they got their they slipped through time once again. And again. And again. They finally arrived at an alternate future, one ruled by the Magus and the Universal Church of Truth. While battling the members of the Church, they had an unexpected guest: Kang the Conqueror. He returned them to their normal states and took them to his headquarters in limbo. He explained that all futures were becoming Magus futures and it was up to Starlord to stop this from happening.
The Cost of Victory
Kang gave Peter a Cosmic Cube and told him that future must be saved at all costs. They were sent back to moments before Adam would turn into the Magus while repairing the Fault. Starlord tried to talk to Adam, but the damage had been done. He had overlapped the time lines and essentially he had been the Magus for months. Adam transformed and began his battle with the Guardians, who were all reunited. After killing Major Victory, Mantis, Cosmo, Gamora and Phyla, Starlord was finally able to grab the Cube and use it to revert the Magus back to Adam. Adam told him that he must finish him, and to his own regret, Starlord shot and killed his friend. The universe had been saved, but the price was very high. It was later revealed to Star-Lord that Magus faked his death along with the deaths of Peter's teammates and when Starlord had finally met up with them he found that they had none other than Thanos with them. It is explained that Thanos' body was placed in a cocoon by Adam Warlock. Phyla was tricked into hatching the egg by Maelstrom. Starlord than used what was left of his cosmic cube to knock the mindless Thanos out for the time being.
Thanos Imperative

The Thanos Imperative After the Magus detonates several planets to open the Fault further, Peter comes up with a plan to use Thanos to defeat Magus and the inhabitants of the Cancerverse that are invading their Universe. Peter figures that since Thanos is the Avatar of Death that he can be used to bring death back into the Cancerverse.
Starlord and his Guardians then travel to the Cancerverse, but Thanos grows weak and ill because of the lack of Death in the universe, although he grew more powerful by the moment. They arrive to discover that the Defenders of the Realm cannot be killed by them. Thanos then attacks the Defenders and discovers that he can kill them because he is the Avatar of Death. Vision then arrives and brings the Guardians to Titan. He explains that the Captain Marvel of the Cancerverse survived the cancer by performing a ritual by sacrificing the Avatar of Death which turned all the heroes to energy and absorbed it. This killed Death in their Universe. Starlord believes that this is what Lord Mar-vell is trying to accomplish in their universe. Unable to contain his hatred for Thanos, Drax attacks Thanos and attaches a bomb onto him which explodes and reduces Thanos to a skeleton. But surprisingly Thanos regenerates completely which leads to the discovery that Death has once again cursed Thanos with life and can no longer die. Thanos than unleashes a powerful blast at Drax, killing him.
Starlord's Final Stand
Lord Mar-Vell then sends his Revengers to kill Thanos and the Guardians. The Scarlet Witch of the Cancerverse sees her love Vision wounded and near death on the ground and opens a powerful explosion which knocks out all of the Revengers. Wanda reveals that she has been part of the resistance the whole time. She teleports Peter and Thanos to the site of the Necropsy Ritual. Before they can advance, Lord Mar-vell shows up with his Revengers and Thanos and Mar-vell go head on. Thanos easily handles Mar-vell but than releases him, pleading for his own death and betraying the Starlord and the heroes.
Mar-Vell begins his ritual sacrifice, but this time Death will not be cheated again. She destroys Mar-Vell in a massive blast that begins to destroy the entire Cancerverse. When Starlord notices that Death is ignoring Thanos, he knows this is going to be bad. While the others transport back to their universe, Starlord and Nova stay behind in order to stall Thanos long enough for the universe to collapse on them. This way Thanos cannot escape and threaten their universe. Taking his Cosmic Cube, he and Nova keep Thanos there long enough for the collapse, seemingly sacrificing themselves for the greater good of the universe. A service was held on Hala for the fallen, a statue of Starlord and Nova in memoriam created with the inscription "Guardians of the Galaxy".
Marvel NOW!
Although yet to be explained, Starlord escaped the Cancerverse implosion (along with Thanos, but not Richard Rider) during the Marvel NOW! reboot, changing his origin along with his appearance to be blonde. Similar to his original origin, his mother was killed by the Badoon (not the Ariguans) because they wished to destroy Jason of Spartax's lineage.
Peter survived by finding his father's element gun, which many believe to be a simple toy, so he was able to keep it through the orphanages and foster homes he went through. This origin completely skips the Master of the Sun events, his new motivation for space travel to protect Earth from the Badoon.
