Regenerative Healing Factor: Upon joining the Weapon Plus, Snake was artificially granted a healing factor by the program similar to the ones possessed by Wolverine and Sabretooth. As a result, he can regenerate damaged or destroyed bodily tissue with far greater speed and efficiency than an ordinary human. Snake is capable of fully healing from injuries that result in massive tissue damage and blood loss such as multiple gunshot wounds, slashes, punctures, and severe burns within a matter of minutes. Injuries as severe as multiple broken bones can heal completely within a day. It's unknown if he can regenerate missing limbs and organs, and he'd rather it stay unknown.
Superhuman Strength: Thanks to the Super Soldier Serum and further enhancements by Weapon Plus, Snake possesses Superhuman strength. He's capable of lifting 1500 pounds with maximum effort. Superhuman Reflexes: Though not up to par of someone like Nightcrawler or Spider-Man, Snake is above an Olympic level athlete in his ability to move his body, barely breaching the superhuman range. Strength level: Snake possesses super human strength of a man of his age, height, and build who engages in intensive regular exercise. He is able to lift up to 1500 pounds with maximum effort. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Snake is an expert soldier, trained in multiple martial arts, including many of the close quarter techniques used by the military. He's also trained to use just about every modern weapon. Interrogation: Snake is adept in interrogation techniques, often using law enforcement methods as well as torture. Trained Acrobat: Snake is highly mobile, and is capable of navigating obstacles with streamlined, more practical aspects of the art of Free Running. Snake often avoids flips or cartwheels of the sort, finding them to be a significant waste of time and effort. Hand To Hand Combat Master: Snake is a brilliant hand to hand combat fighter, and is possibly one of the best fighters on the planet. His range of knowledge doesn't extend far beyond styles employed by various law enforcement agencies and military organizations across the planet, however. Weapons Master: Through his years of service, Snake is well versed in the usage of a variety of military weapons. From knives to handguns to assault rifles to missile launchers, all of these items are exceptionally deadly in his hands. Snake does have some talent in the wielding of more flashy, exotic weapons, such as swords, but refrains from using them. He's not really a fan of blades. Master of Stealth: Snake is highly skilled in the talent of stealth and infiltration. He barely makes a noise as he moves and is capable of breaching high security facilities with ease, and more times than not, without being detected. Expert Marksman: He is an exceptional marksman, skilled in sharpshooting and knife throwing. He's even capable of pulling off what's commonly known as "no-scoping", pulling off headshots with rifles without using the iron sights or scopes at a distance anywhere from 50 to 100 yards away. Genius-Level Intellect: Snake possesses a high IQ. He's nowhere near on par with the likes of Tony Stark or Reed Richards, but he's capable of learning and understanding the basics of sciences and languages with an ease. Polyglot: He is able to speak several languages, including Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Russian, and Mandarin, all without an accent no less. Master Tactician and Strategist: Thanks to his decades of combat experience, Snake is an accomplished combat strategist, able to formulate battle strategies and alter any strategy of plan to fit the needs of the situation. He doesn't consider himself a good leader, though he probably could be if he actually attempted. WEAPONS AND EQUIPMENT: Snake is known to use a variety of items as the need arises, though he's typically seen with a standard set of weapons and equipment. CCS Knife: A knife custom designed by Snake himself and manufactured by the arms division of Williams Enterprises. The overall length of the knife is nine inches with a 4½ inch blade. Snake's model is made out of solid titanium with a diamond impregnated edge for surgically precise cutting. LWRCI M6A2 Custom: Based off of the famous M4 rifle, it's a modular, 6.8 mm automatic rifle with a 12.7 inch barrel, often outfitted with a Eotech holographic sight, flashlight, forward grip, and laser sight. Snake often attaches on various underbarrel equipment such as the M320 40mm grenade launcher and the M26 shotgun. Snake's weapon is modified to have four firing modes: safe, semi-automatic, three round burst, and full auto. Colt 1911 Custom: A modified Colt 1911, allowing it to use the armor piercing 5.7mm round. It possesses an integrated laser sight for extra precision as well as an accessory rail under the barrel and is commonly equipped with a flashlight. Along with various aftermarket customizations, including a flush, threaded barrel for the application of a sound suppressor, the grip has been modified to have notches toward the outer portion, away from the palm of the hands, allowing for the comfortable handling of knife and sidearm in a combat firing stance, a standard for CCS practitioners. Sneaking Suit Mk. III: Designed by Emmerson Inc for United States special forces, and ultimately rejected due to cheaper alternatives. Lightly armored, skintight bodysuit, reinforced at the knees, elbows, ankles, and wrists in order to keep the joints stable. The suit itself is a mixture of kevlar, carbon nanotube fibers, providing moderate protection against gunfire while allowing heightened mobility. Snake's suit is specifically designed to promote stealth and is insulated to reduce the heat signature profile his body produces. The material is breathable and is perfect for a variety of environments, including tropical and arctic. Lighter: A standard, $13 Zippo lighter. Cigarettes: Used in conjunction with his lighter, Snake is rarely without his smokes. He's even come up with a variety of tactical solutions with his cigarettes in the past. WEAKNESSES: Snake can be damaged just like any person. Extreme amounts of damage, like explosions, can put him down and possibly kill him. HISTORY The man who would eventually become known as Solid Snake was born sometime in 1930 to a Japanese-American mother and American father, four years after his brother, Liquid Snake, otherwise known as Nathan Pliskin. The facts about much of his childhood are unknown. Both of his parents were part of the armed forces and were stationed at Pearl Harbor. His brother, a genius prodigy, was off in mainland America when Pearl Harbor was bombed by the Japanese, which resulted in Nathan being his sole remaining family member. Driven by rage, Snake trained himself physically for half a year before faking his age and joining the armed forces. Thanks to his size, Snake never really looked his age, and he never acted his age. One woman was able to see through his deception though, and everyone seemed to call her "The Boss." Seeing the potential, she took Snake under her wing, training him as a member of her Cobra Unit, and earning him the nickname The Son in the process. The entirety of the Cobra Unit were used as test subjects for the experimental Super Soldier Serum prior to Steve Rogers. The experimental formula didn't prove to be any benefit to the unit at first, though they all started to experience the effects gradually, with Snake the last member of the unit to get any sort of benefit out of the serum. After the end of World War II, Cold War politics caused The Cobra Unit to dissolve, and Snake continued his apprenticeship under The Boss, helping her to create the revolutionary close quarters combat fighting style known as CCS, an art that is pretty much under-appreciated to this day. As The Boss' "son", he trained with her up until their parting in the 1960's, due to the Cuban Missile Crisis. Snake later took over his own platoon in the Navy, which was used for covert missions. His brother, Nathan got word of his brothers achievements and persuaded him into joining Weapon Plus. Snake did so, and underwent the treatments to become a super soldier. Afterward, he soon discovered the truth of the organization and left, and then began to float in and out of various special operations units around the world, eventually finding himself back into the mitts of the CIA. The Iran-Contra Affair of the 1980's, of which Snake personally took part in, lead to a decade long retirement for Snake, until he was brought back into action by Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D as a mercenary. Once more, Snake floated around various hotspots before catching wind of Weapon Plus and their continued operations, namely those that involved his brother and his apparent niece and nephew. His travels lead him to a Weapon Plus facility in Japan where his niece and nephew, Armitage and Raiden respectively, were investigating to find answers to their past. After aiding them in the destruction of the Weapon Plus facility, he traveled with them back to the X-Men, becoming a revolving door member of sorts, aiding them in their operations. Despite his close ties to S.H.I.E.L.D., he avoided the Superhuman Civil War entirely, and eventually parted ways when Tony Stark took over, though he left himself available should he be needed. Thanks to his family ties, he always winds up back with the X-Men eventually, though he never admits he does it to check in on his family.
