"Brian! Get down!!!"
It wasn't long after Emma made the announcement that some of the demons began to rush the entrance where Emma stood. One hand reaching back to cover the billionaire that stood behind him, Scott fired a quick shot after lifting up his glasses. The shot banked off of Emma's diamond form and managed to crack a demon in the face, knocking it backward into a crowd of its friends.
"What the hell is going on here!?!" Brian exclaimed as he took a protective stance while he maintained some distance behind both of the X-Men leaders.
"No idea," He said before letting off three more blasts before focusing on what the others nearby were saying. If Priest--the obvious candidate--wasn't behind this, then who was? That was something they could find out once they regrouped with the others. As of right now, they needed some more wiggle room to combat this fiasco. "Tessa, provide defense for Brian. The rest of us need to clear the way so we can get out of here."

''Maybe Jack is finished with whatever he's doing. He'll appear any second,'' Craig said in a slightly anxious tone. Or maybe he was completely wrong. Craig half expected Jack to run to them with a bunch of enemies behind him. If so, he was prepared to defeat the adversaries. If only he had a slight clue of what Jack was up to at the moment.

"Nice shooting, darling," Emma said as she stood by Scott and prepared to crack another demon in the face. "Craig, I saw Jack go to the catacombs with some woman with horns on her head," the White Queen said in reply to Mr. Dragotti. "I think she is one of the extended MacFeorais clan. The whole lot reminds me of Game of Thrones."
"Mr. Williams," Sage said as she stayed at Brian's side while the demons started to leave the main area. "Where is your companion? There was a gentleman here with you, correct? Or did he end up with Pepper Potts? I thought I saw them speaking earlier," she said as she shot a demon between the eyes and watched it fall near the doorway.
"Scott, I know Sebastian and Priest would be the likeliest suspects, but...oh no," Emma said as she looked further into the ballroom. "I think I know what's happening. Look back there," she pointed after she cracked another demon in the jaw. "Doom and the Scarlet Witch. Together. Between them they have enough power to do all this, and Doom had that contretemps in Arthurian times with Iron Man, and that involved a demon army."

"He what?" Mrs. Brown shrieked when Emma Frost told Mr. Dragotti where Master Jack had run off to. "He and that nice lady Mira went to the catacombs? Oh no. He went to stop whatever is causing this," she said as she motioned for Mr. Dragotti to get out of the way of the gunfire and optic blasts. "Do you think we should go help them? And the faeries might be wonderful idea, Mr. Dragotti, but I have no connection to them. Tia Dalma might, but going back to find her is likely not the best idea."

Craig turned to Emma. ''Jack is in the catacombs?'' he muttered. His eyes were wide when he saw gunfire. He stepped to one side very quickly. ''I wish we could help Jack, Mrs. Brown. Will he desire our help?'' he asked.

"I have no idea if we could be of service, Mr. Dragotti. You might be with your fire powers, but I might be a liability," Mrs. Brown said as she glanced at that scary woman with the gun eyeing them. "You have something you wish to share, miss?"
"Going to the center of the problem would likely be ill-advised," Sage replied as she looked back toward the front door. "I see police officers outside. You may wish to exit now before anything gets worse."
"Worse? Mr. Dragotti, what could be worse than this?" Mrs. Brown asked as she started to move toward the doors. "Shall we?"

''I will be able to protect you with my pyrokinesis, Mrs. Brown.'' Craig saw the armed woman until he frowned. Hopefully she wouldn't start shooting at him. He turned to Mrs. Brown after she asked the dreaded question. His eyes widened. ''I wish you never asked that, Mrs. Brown. Something worse always happens after you ask that question.'' Craig nodded at her until he approached the door.

"Then I pray that this once, just this once, that is not the case!" Mrs. Brown exclaimed as she made a sign of the cross and opened the front doors of the mansion. There were indeed police officers outside, members of SHIELD, other first responders and the crazy media people with their TV cameras. "I see a barricade across the street! Let's make our way there."
As Mr. Dragotti and Mrs. Brown got outside, a police officer ushered them to the barricades cross the street.

Kendra nodded to Scott and Emma and looked back at Sage and Brian Williams as she hefted her mace in her hands and ruined her evening gown by sprouting her demon's wings. "Gramma Siofra's gonna be pissed!" she yelled as she took to the air as a pack of demons broke through one of the walls and started to make a run at Sage and Brian. "I don't think so, ugly!" she yelled as she swung her mace and knocked one of the demons back inside and through one of the portals they were pouring out of. "Cyclops! Ma is throwing intel at me in that family link of ours. Something's up. These are temporal gateways, not hell dimension portals."
As Kendra swung her mace again, there was a BAMF and the smell of brimstone as Nightcrawler ported in with Amanda Sefton and a bunch of SHIELD ops. "Hurray! The cavalry is here!" Kendra shouted as she smiled at Kurt and Amanda. The female SHIELD agent gave her a dirty look.
{{I'll figure that out later}} Kendra thought as she dodged a battle axe being swung by a large tengu that had come flying out of one of the portals. "Hello ugly! Where have you been all my life?" she asked as she blocked the tengu's axe strike.

Craig saw a variety of people outside. He didn't mind that they were present so as long as they were potential friends instead of enemies. He nodded at Mrs. Brown after she instructed him to go to the barricade. Being outside seemed slightly safer than being inside. Although Craig was once a mob boss, he was enthusiastic about cops getting him to safety. The cops didn't have to know about his Mafia past.

Nightcrawler could not believe his eyes as demons seemed to be pouring out of the walls of the Hellfire mansion. He turned to see Sebastian Shaw leaving through a doorway. Kurt knew that could not be good news, but he couldn't focus too long on the Lord Imperial of the Hellfire Club as an ax came flying toward Nightcrawler. Before the weapon could hit him, Kurt teleported away from the blade and onto the back of the demon that had thrown it. "I pray Azazel has no hand in this, Cyclops!" Nightcrawler yelled as he appropriated a sword from the demon's back sling and used it to cut the creature's own torso. "Do you know who is causing this disaster?"
"Morgan Le Fay's name has gone to the top of the list, Kurt," Emma replied as she slammed her diamond fist into the face of another creature. "But Doom is here as well, and he brought a date. Wanda Maximoff."
Kurt could not believe what he was hearing as Emma mentioned Wanda. "I pray Wanda has had no part in this. I do not want a repeat of M Day. Our community would not survive another incident like that."

Kendra was so happy to see Kurt in the middle of this battle that she could have just burst into happy tears, but Emma would have berated her for being a wuss or something, so she kept it in check as she pushed the last demon back from the foyer and into the main party area. The SHIELD ops and Amanda had disappeared into the ballroom, and Emma and Scott were now making their move to the center of the action as well. Sage was guarding Brian Williams, so that left Kendra and "Uncle" Kurt to bring up the "almost rear" as they ran from the foyer into the party area.
The whole situation with Logan not being her birth father had tossed Kendra for a loop, but she had kept her disappointment close to the vest most of the time. The only real exception she made was for Kurt. He was the one who had helped her get past the pain to realize that Gabe as a dad and Logan as an almost step dad was not the worst thing in the world. Going along on some of his trips to help less fortunate mutants helped. Kurt always had a way of helping people see the hope in the hole, as Kendra liked to call it.
"Glad you got here, Kurtster," Kendra said as she landed and retracted her wings before walking with Kurt into the ballroom.
